Default I don't get TUF 5

I don't understand why the UFC is doing a show with all LW, that division is in pretty good shape in my opinion. It's the Heavy weight and Light heavy weight that needs help. And on the same note, I think the UFC needs to take it easy on bulding up guys and start bring in well-known/good fighters. I know TUF has done a lot for MMA and that's awesome and it's not that I don't like the TUF guys, it's that I'm sick of the UFC trying to shove them in our faces.

how does doing a show on LHW and HW help out the division at all? They're gonna do a show with Cro Cop and Fedor all of sudden? UFC needs more quality fighters instead of marketing bunch of crappy fighters.

the problem with TUF is, only 2 or 3 fighters in what? 3 shows are worth a damn.. the rest are average, TUF has failed they need to stick to the comeback.

What? That's what I said! I said they should bring in well-known/good fighters for the HW and LHW classes. And I also said if they are going to do anoher TUF it should be HW or LHW because the other classes are fine. And I also said I am sick of having the fighters shoved in our face! Did you even read my post? On a side note, that is a sweet pic in your profile.

TUF is necessary for the development of MMA into the mainstream. It allows fans who are not direct or longterm fans of the sport to have an easy entry into the sport. Therefore its also necessary for these fans to be able to see people they can recognise and have seen on TUF on the PPV cards in order to up PPV buys and in turn these people will watch the more quality fighters on the cards and become deeper involved.

As much as the "hardcore" fans can see that the 90% of the TUF guys arent good enough to make top10 in their division it is a necessary evil for the growth and development of MMA into more and more mainstream and more cash. The more cash the bigger name fighters the UFC can bring in. Give it time.

UFC wants to build up its own fighters from scratch, just like Pride did for the most part.

But I agree their LW and WW are stacked pretty nicely and need to concentrate on LHW and HW.

The reason that they're not doing HW's is that there isn't that many skilled HW's out there that aren't already signed somewhere. If you have any talent at all at HW then you probably would've gotten signed up already. Just look at season two of TUF it produced more LHWs then it did HWs for the HW portion of the show. Petruzelli, Jardine and Evans all moved down to LHW and you had the grand total of Brad Imes and Tom Murphy as HWs, not exactly a resounding success.

Not to mention that the LWs will provide for much better fights to watch every week on TUF.

Oh they're out there, the UFC just has not found them becasue they're searching SOLELY in the US and we all know the best fighters in the world are NOT American, they're Russian and Brazilian.

Croation and Dutch too!

I am still waiting for a good irish fighter to come in and kick some skulls in.

Also how much longer before the Mexicans get into MMA and takeover the LW and WW? Mexicans are just friggin tough as hell. I think we are going to see an on-slaught soon.

Yes I agree, and Mexicans should be great at LW and WW. Most mexians that I knew in High school also had a great advantage for boxing as they did not have the cartilage in their nose therfore it doesn't break when punched, kicked, or kneed. Huge advantage in boxing and would be huge in MMA as well. And like you said, they are really tuff in general.
