Default Rubber guard

2 things. 1- has anyone gotten or looked at Eddie Bravo's new book on the rubber guard and if so how is it and does it cover all postion or just the guard? 2- Why do we never see the rubber guard in MMA, very rarely have I seen it, maybe I'm missing something but I haven't seen anyone use "Mission Control" What do you guys think?

most guys in MMA arent BJJ masters.
they have solid ground games, but most arent as flexible or fluid on the ground as most of the guys that use rubber guard as a normal part of their game. its a hard move to pull, and its even harder to get a sub from it.

plus, its hard to pull rubber guard when the other guy is trying to punch you in the face.
only person i've seen use it is BJ Penn, but even he never pulled anything with it

Rubber guard is when you have on foot in the hip and the other accross teh opponets shoulder grabbing your ankle palm up. just tigher guard for no gi. and helps take away the striking power or your opponent if you use it for MMA.

Here are some techniques that show it.

I have seen BJ Penn, Shogun and I think Hendo use it. I think BJ almost pulled a Omma Plata against GSP with it and Shogun did an electric chair to Randleman Ithink.

That would be a Gogoplata....BJ was VERY close to sinking it in and ending the fight at the end of the 3rd, he just needed to get his shin bone across the throat of GSP and pull down on his head.
