while Monson has great grappling credentials, and this fight will spend most of the time ont he ground, Monson has no real advantage anywhere in this fight. Fedor has better standup, better GnP, and his sambo is top notch.

Kinda hard to sub a guy if you have no leverage, due to them having 9 inches on you and a reach advantage. Sylvia is pretty much the worst matchup for Monson, since he is so damn tall, whereas Monson's height is slightly below average.

For crying out loud Afro, what does Sylvia have to do? I had to endure forever yapping from everyone how Tim had no TD defense and had no ground game even when I knew that was BS. Now when he shows that he has both, that's still not good enough. Geez, it's not like Sylvias my fav or something, but give the guy some credit.

Some of you are obviously just bashing Monson for no reason whatsoever. Who cares if Fedor kills him. I think it'll be a cool fight to watch.

If Monson was 6'2", that fight would have gone much differently. You know that I know that. Height isn't a skill.

Sylvia didn't give Monson an asswhipping. Not even close. You guys are just trolls.

This is a great fight for Monson. Worst case scenario, he loses to Fedor - no shame there. Best case, he pulls off a submission and beats Fedor - That would pretty much instantly rank him as the #1 HW in the world.
