Hm, just took a look at Tank's wiki entry. According to them, 90% of his opponents went to the emergency room, whether they won or lost. I guess that's just a testament to his sheer striking power. Tank's kinda like a senile parapalegic who's been given a gigantic bazooka, doing battle with a bunch of real snipers who are sporting ordinary handguns.

Was Oleg Taktarov ever a champion ? I cannot remember him winning anything although I do remember a bloody beating he took at the hands of Dan Severn. He was a great fighter. Had more heart than most guys I have seen.

That was one of Tanks 2 chances to win a UFC championship, he lost both. The other was in Ultimate Ultimate 96 where he landed that sickening KO punch on Nelmark wehre he cracked him with a huge right and then Nelmark just folded over. In the finals he had to face Don Frye and this one one fo the more impressive runs to the finals by any fighter as Frye had that opening round fight with Goodridge which was an absolute war and an 11 minute fight so Frye was drained after that fihgt and still had to win his next 2 to win the whole thing. In the finals against Tank it as a sluggfest and because of the fatigue of Frye, Tank was actually dominanting the standup and they were just throwing bombs, Frye was hurt and bloodies adn was so close to dropping and then Tank threw a punch that missed and he slipped, the dazed Don Frye jumped on his back and sun in the rear naked choke.
It was an amazign tournament, Frye was alwasy exciting at 205lbs back in the day.

David Tank Abbott, Pedro Rizzo, and Trey "The Trauma" Talligman are bums!!!!!!!!! Marco was ok but he wasn't the best at his craft. He was well rounded, but he was slow, and his stand up was "OK" at best. talligman was just a pure bum who beat bums. Tank "was" exciting before the term "MMA" was discovered.
Pedro, I used to like. But if your a boxing or Kickboxing fan and accually learn from it, you can tell he's never really been that good at it. He was just fighting people who were terrible at it. He was a kick boxer before he went to MMA so it's natural that he had some nice KOs since he had one punch KO power but he can never and could never compete with the best of the best. He's still questionably in his prime. He's only 32 years old and he cant do anything with the new crop of MMA fighters they have now. That's because he was never that good and will never get that good. You can teach a fighter everything you know, but if they cant apply it, it doesn't mean anything. If Pedro is fighting a Wrestler who had the rudiments of ground defense, he loses every time.
CroCop and Genki Sudo, hands down are the best to never have a title!!!!!!!!!!!
