Igor Vovchanchyn

That guy got ripped off in the 2000 OWGP in PRIDE. Coleman "fights" Fujita who taps out at the opening bell while Vovchanchyn has two wars in one night before the championship match (against Kazushi Sakuraba and a in-his-prime Gary Goodridge).

Vovchanchyn then takes on a relatively fresh Coleman and makes the fight go until the 3rd minute of the 2nd round.

Fujita should have bowed out and let the alternate fight Coleman. Coleman got a free pass.

For my money...hands down Igor Vovchanchyn deserves to be a champ.

I was going to say Guy Mezger, but he was King of Pancrase, and won UFC 13. But it would have been great to see him hold a title in UFC in LHW or in pride. He was a great figther, and it sucks that he retired. A very underrated fighter in my view.

Didn't Guy beat Tito to become the 1997 UFC 13 Lightweight Tournament Champion?

He did beat Tito, I beifly mentioned that. Just never held a title once the belt system was brought into effect.
