Who do you choose a great fighters that not became a champion? for me i choose david tank abbott,pedro rizzo,and trey "the trauma" talligman.

Actually, I wish this MMA thing had started years earlier, when Marco Ruas was a few years younger. He kind of got cheated due to the timing of the whole event.

I've always been impressed with the respect Pedro Rizzo has always shown Marco. Both are real class acts, on the level of Couture.

Agree w\ you rizzo is already a winner to me in his first fight againths couture. but they decleared randy as a winner. i like randy but i think it's a bad call.even pedro felt that he was robbed.

Cro Cop all the way...yeah, he won the Grand Prix, but that's relatively different.

I'll go with Rizzo as well, but I've gotta question the original thread: Tank Abbott and Tra Telligman? Telligman's got guts, but he never really progressed that much as a fighter...yeah, he beat Brad Kohler and almost knocked out Rizzo, but he never was all that extraordinary.

And Tank...he has a 9-12 record. He's lost six of his last seven fights. Paul Buentello KO'd him in 43 seconds. He lost to Cabbage and then beat him in a rematch. Neither of those two facts are much cause for pomp and circumstance. Don't get me wrong, I give the guy some credit for popularizing the UFC in the early days; he was one of its first great characters. The sport, however, passed him by years ago.

rizzo wasnt robbed...but it was an amazing fight...and either way he lost the second...same sorta deal as hughes and newton

id have to say cro crop, but no way in hell tank, tank was never a great fighter he was a side show for ufc had no skill but power, and ill agree rizzo was good but never got a belt

I agree, CroCop is arguably the #2 HW in the world. The only thing in his way is Fedor and there is no shame at all to being 2nd to Fedor. Oh I dont know why Warchief mentioned Tank as someone that was a great fighter that never became a champion. Tank was just a straight street brawler that hit like a mack truck. He lacked the "MMA" part lol. His record is 9 wins and 12 losses... not too great and he has some embaressing losses like Frank Mir submitting Tank in 46 seconds.
