Keith Jardine cut by the UFC following TUF 11 Finale loss to Matt Hamill - MMA Mania

Quote:
Former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 contestant and 13-fight Octagon veteran Keith Jardine has been released by the UFC following his TUF 11 Finale loss to Matt Hamill on June 19 in Las Vegas.

That's the word from MMA Fighting, who confirmed Jardine's release with Dana White earlier today.

"The Dean of Mean" had dropped four consecutive bouts and six of his last eight over the span of three years. In addition to losing last Saturday night to "The Hammer," Jardine came up empty against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Thiago Silva, and Ryan Bader.

Not exactly the weakest competition.

Regardless, the man who kept himself in contention by defeating the likes of Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell will now earn his next win, or loss, in an organization not named the UFC.

Anyone want to lay odds on how quickly he turns up in Strikeforce?

Yep, Jardine is going to be King Mo's next title match. Called this right before Jardine fought Hamil.

I just really got into UFC a couple of weeks ago and Jardine is one of my favorites. I like his attitude. I hope you are all right and he ends up fighting in Strikeforce or another promotion, gets a few wins, and ultimately comes back to the UFC to get some big wins.

I gaurentee that he'll be back in the UFC after like one or two fights in another promotion. He's got some wins over former champs and is a moderatley big name. Dana's no idiot.... well actually... ahah

Tough call. Jardine is a tough dude, but you gotta win every so often. The guy who broke Chuck Liddell, cut from the UFC. Sadly ironic.

Even with his million losses he would test Jon Jones a hell of a lot more than Vladdy. I really like the janitor don't get me wrong but I was hoping they would some day match Keith up with Jones before they booted him. Never really been a "Dean of Mean" fan but Zuffa I feel still had use for him, and it sucks to see someone leave on a "shady" fight, regardless if you like them or not.

If he is smart he will NOT sign with SF, so he won't be locked down in a contract and return to the big leagues after a few solid wins.

They are training partners.. not gunna happen in a division that dont need it to.

Also I think u are under rating vlad a hella lot.. at this point in their career's I would take vlad to beat jardine anyday...and as for bones jardine... JBJ will just give us our 1st glimpse of death in the octagon, would be a very bad night for keith

I think this was a BAD move by the UFC,for a few reasons.

1- People know Keith. He is in movies, and tv.

2- He ALWAYS comes to fight. I have never watched Jardine and got bored.

3- Now their feeding the competition. SF, and DREAMS LHW divisions are lacking, Jardine will boost these now.

I want Jardine in DREAMS LHW tournament. People in Japan will love him.

For some reason, people dont like Jardine. Cant understand why, the guy is a warrior. He always comes to fight, he never backs down, even with his chin. Never been in a boring fight, has big wins over TWO LHW champions. Why does a fighter have to be a contender or a hot prospect for people to love him. I feel Jardine fits in with Lytle, Fisher, Franklin, and Davis. THe guys will probably never see a title fight, but their some of the best fighters to watch, because they always bring it.

WAR JARDINE IN HIS NEXT HOME!!!!
