Let me first say that I have read some nonsense in my time, but honestly some of the BS I have read on some other sites is mind boggling. Nevermind some of the most ridiculous bias announcing ever.
Secondly, Brock Lesnar, like him or not, is an absolute fucking animal. He is a fucking warrior and has gained ALOT of respect from many in this sport. (Hopefully).
I mention in another thread that someone is going to get exposed in this fight... And that someone was Shane Carwin. His cardio...fuck it Im not going into it. He did SO much wrong, that I would be here for days. I dont understand what the fuck the coaching staff is doing with some of these guys but it needs immediate adjustment on many levels.
Josh Rosenthal made the absolutely right call by far. He was RIGHT there and with all the times I watched this fight over and over again today, slow motion replay...he was spot on.
Shane Carwin is still delirious if he believes Brock was out for a millisecond. If you take the time to see the fight in slow motion, EVERYONE will see from various camera angles that the Uppercut he threw was not "devastating" and 60% of the shots he threw to Lesnars body and face did not land let alone make good contact with anything.
He (shane) did get thru with 20 strikes. 5 of which include an elbow that opened a first cut (by a straight punch) pretty good. But lets be clear, Lesnar was not HURT in the least. Seriously, he did a great job defending and was completely honest in his post fight interview. He weathered the storm and defended very powerful strikes.
Joe Rogan got only ONE thing right in the whole fight. At 2:39 of the first round he said "I wonder if he (carwin) has punched himself out"
Thats it..thats all he got right. The rest of the nut hanging was making me sick. 10-8 round my ass. Even at the VERY LAST moment of the fight they were saying "no Shane can breathe". Idiots just slobbering fools.
One thing about Brock is that his technical striking is lacking big time. I would love to have 4 weeks with that dude but just to mention a few things... his right hand needs to be closer to his chin and body when weaving and preparing for a jab. His foot work relies WAY to much on the joints versus shifting weight THRU his hips and heels.
All of that forces his right hand to be EXTREMELY telegraphed.
If Brock can learn to BOX, even at an intermediate level, he will rule the HW division for a long time.
Randy had it right, this dude has ALOT of horsepower. At the 1:30 mark in the first round Carwin lost the fight and the will to survive. FIRST ROUND, watch the fight again and look at the timeline I have given in this post. Lesnar was ready to roll every second, never tired, never rocked. He just waited for the right opportunity like a snake in the grass. He is a very scary dude.
There is a TON more I have to say but I will leave it for counter posts. | This!

Whoever said Cain has no chance is out of their mind. Cain will tool Lesnar, I promise. Cain is improving with every fight and his standup will definitely be better. Once he stuffs Brock's first TD he'll end up backing him up too except Velasquez won't gas himself out in the first, third, or any other round. Get ready for it, Brock is going to get pounded out.

Why is it ok to standup 2 ground specialists as soon as the crowd starts booing, but they'll never restart them in the missionary position no matter how much 2 guys dance around each other?

The fact that Brock almost died months earlier, and had to change his lifestyle, and to come back and pull out a hard fought victory is nothing short of amazing!
He's had what six or seven pro fights? R.I.P. Cain.

I was quite suprised that it didnt get stopped when i watched it. He may have blocked everything but he turtled for almost 30 seconds just eating punches. I thought Shane should have used Mir's gameplan for Nog and not chased him to the ground. Great learning experience for him tho. I feel sorry for both of their next opponents since brock will hopefully improve his standup and shane will be looking to get back in the mix.

In many ways I wanted the fight stopped because I wanted Carwin to win, on the other hand I wanted him to get hit a bit more and maybe Carwin could have done the pony on lesnars back.
Anyhow, Great fight and I lost 5Bux!
BTW, the way Brock was covering up showed like a little girl crying in the corner... weird

Yep, agree, I just watched the fight again, and Brock is really lucky that Josh R. let the fight go on. Glad it wasn't stopped though.

There is a TON more I have to say but I will leave it for counter posts. | I agree for the most part. I never once saw Lesnar go out, and I've watched this fight a few times, like you've said. His head was off the mat for just about every hit. And he defended well. I feel he did just as he said after the fight. He was just weathering the storm because he knew he could tire him out to make his own ground game go that much smoother.
On another note, this card was damn good. i enjoyed it all, well worth the cash spent on this bad boy.
Did Cain look a little worried when they showed him after the fight?

man this was an awesome card and an awesome main event, I can not wait for the rematch. I have never been a Lesnar fan but he impressed me last night and I think he is holding onto that belt for awhile. At least until the rematch until Carwin can work on his cardio but who knows what level brock will be at by that point. Man I can't wait.
