"TUF 11" champ Court McGee likely to meet Ryan Jensen at UFC 121
by Steven Marrocco on Jul 12, 2010 at 5:00 pm ET
"The Ultimate Fighter 11" winner Court McGee (10-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is expected to make his first post-"TUF" appearance when he meets Ryan Jensen (15-6 MMA, 2-4 UFC) at UFC 121.
MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) learned of the matchup today via multiple sources close to the event who said that verbal agreements are place and contracts will be finalized shortly.
UFC 121 is expected to take place Oct. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., though the promotion has yet to announce the pay-per-view event.
It's not clear if McGee vs. Jensen will be part of the night's preliminary or main card.
McGee brought "TUF 11" a storybook ending when he came back from an early-round loss to Nick Ring and – as an injury replacement – defeated James Hammortree and Brad Tavares to earn a spot on the show's finale. In a dominant performance, he then submitted fellow finalist Kris McCray to earn the title of "The Ultimate Fighter."
The win was particularly emotional for the Ogden, Utah native, who battled drugs and alcohol before he found salvation in fighting. Professionally, it was McGee's fourth consecutive win. The sole loss on his record came at the hands of former UFC contender Jeremy Horn in December 2007.
Jensen, meanwhile, caught an upswing in the seesaw of his recent UFC career when he scored a guillotine-choke victory over Jesse Forbes at UFC 114 to win "Submission of the Night" honors. Prior to that, a submission victory over Steve Steinbess was sandwiched in between submission losses to Wilson Gouveia and Mark Munoz.
In his first UFC stint, Jensen made two appearances in 2007 and lost to submission experts Thales Leites and Demian Maia at UFC 74 and UFC 77, respectively.
A heavyweight title fight pitting current champion Brock Lesnar against top contender Cain Velasquez headlines UFC 121, as UFC president Dana White recently confirmed.

Seems like a decent enough match-up for Court.

Jensen's not a scrub, but this is a good first fight for Court. His wrestling is fine, and his striking looks better lately. 2nd round TKO for CM.
