Oh I agree, but I bet Chuck gets extras too. But yes I think Fedor is getting paid a lot more than that. But Pride showing 100k for Fedor is all we got to go on.

He is looking to start paying top ranked fighters more money keep up with and try to stay ahead of the game as Pride, IFL and Bodog are looking very strong at the moment. Pride always has, as they have the best fighters in the world, IFL has enough money to continue their success and Bodog's owner, Calvin Ayre is a billionaire.

people demand that Dana be paying so much for his fighters. but in all honesty, that call is made without real numbers
right now, the UFC is making money hand over fist. but there is only so much available. theres promotion money, money to take care of event centers and staff, money for headliners, money for corporate staff, and money to pay off debts owed by the UFC.
when Zuffa picked it up, the UFC was nearly bankrupt, and is still digging its way out while trying to expand

Preliminary fighters in boxing make next to nothing in comparison, only like $100 a round. And the undercard boxers don't have the opportunities to makes sponsorship money like you do in MMA. Since people only really care about the main eventers in boxing, when in MMA a lot of people know who the undercard fighters are too just not to the same extent.

They are making a killing now even with their $40 million debt and staff salaries and overheard.

There's going to be debate about pay no matter what sport your talking about. I agree that there should be a base pay for fighters with the amount depending on if the fight is on Spike, PPV etc.
I don't care for or watch golf, however, I do respect that it is one of the only games/sports (if you consider it a sport) that pays for performance. MMA is the same way where the better you perform the more you get paid ie. winning a match, submitting/KO an opponent.

Dana White is doing a commendable job, they bought ufc for 2 million dollars and expect to make 15-20X that of off ufc 66. Some might think hes being stingy in paying some fighters only like 3 - 5 k. But the bigger fighters do get good money and this leaves UFC in a better position to bring in newer fighters like crocop and make for overall better fights. Just look at the anouncments of ufc buying wfa and wec. UFC is obviously into the green and growing exponentially.

I'm really torn about how much these fighters should be making. On one hand $3000 seems low for how much training they have to do. But it does weed out the suspect fighters from the ones with drive and skill. On the other hand major sports pay their athletes approximately 40-55% of the total revenue over their seasons. If the UFC was to go this route the fighters would be paid anywhere from 6mil to 15mil for each PPV. That seems pretty obscene as well.
What do you guys think would be a fair percentage for the fighters?

wether you like dana or hate him, I guess you have to give him credit for making the ufc grow. I understand about the better fighters getting paid more, but some of the undercard pays are pretty low. but I guess chuck didnt make much when he first started. As per the thread dana loves his fighters, Im sure he does they are making him alot of money now.
