Good acquisition by the UFC. This will allow them to hold on to a lot more talent and let guys rebuild their careers after some tough losses. David Loiseau anyone?
Loiseau is going to fight on 2/10 for the promotion on Showtime. I don't remember but i think it is BJ Penn's brothers promotion.
This is something that I never saw comming. I wonder how the PPV situation will work? Will there be one or two UFC owned MMA PPV's a month? Didn't Dana say that they were planning alot more events in 2007.
My guess would be that the WEC events would be broadcast on a television network (whichever they get on). That way the successful fighters would have a decent name built up when they show up on the UFC cards.
Another thing to keep in mind for this is that it will probably open up more room on UFC cards for upper level guys on the same card because the UFC won't have to groom the newer fighters as much and by the time the guys get to the UFC there will be more interest in them.

Sounds very much like a farm league. Seems like a really good idea to me.

The name of the Showtime promotion is going to be called Pro Elite. J.D. Penn will be used as a booker for Pro Elite but it is a totally seperate promotion then Rumble on the Rock. May be a bit of a cross over but I doubt that Showtime wants to hold events only in Hawaii.
So anybody think Faber will go up to 155 and fight in the UFC?
man, i sure hope so. i'm not too sure what weight he walks around naturally, and he's pretty ripped @ what he's fighting @ now.....145 i believe. but i'd love to see the california kid in the ufc lw division. he has been at a few of the events lately, he was cornering scott smith @ the last ufn. i've been kidna wondering if we'd see him in the ufc.
