The last fight against Loiseau really made me wonder. If the fight lasts 3 rounds with Franklin and he gasses the way he did against the Crow, Franklin will end the fight. Granted, this fight will only be 3 rounds but there were a few times in the 3rd round against Loiseau where I thought Swick was in trouble.

Never really stunned Loiseau, never had him in trouble, never worked successfully toward any subs. He just didn't really have anything going other than the ability to out-point the Crow. He wasn't exposed in the sense that there was any giant weakness that we saw other than his conditioning, but he definitely demonstrated that he was not the mature fighter that some thought he was. He barely beat a half-assed Loiseau, and would have been dominated if the Crow had been anything he was in past fights.

Frankly I wouldn't mind seeing it go either way...either Franklin comes back like a house on fire, or Swick proves us all wrong and is a hell of a lot better than lots of people (myself included) think he is. It'll be entertaining at least.

I like this match up. If Swick wins then there is no way Dana can deny him a title shot. If Rich wins imo he just one more quality win away from a rematch with Anderson.
On a side note, I really like your av sretchin. I'm not even a superman fan but that av is just bitchin.

i mean even if swick looses say a 3 rounder , he is still in title contention, but if he gets knocked out in the first round kinda puts a damper on things

Ill be looking forward to this fight for a bunch of reasons.....
How does the former mw champ deal with his devestating loss?
Is Rich gonna be gun shy now?
How will Swick handle the pressure?
How good is Swick.. really?
Is Swick the real deal? | Is Franklin the Real Deal? That is the question I want answered as well as finding out if Swick is at that caliber as well so IMO this fight will not be proof of who is the real deal as IMO they are both unproven as Franklin's most impressive wins are over Tanner and the crow, with losses to machida and A. Silva (both brutal KO'es and both fights were dominated by Franklin's opponents). franklin had trouble finishing Dewees, nuff said but honestly, Franklin is hyped and the above reasoning is very valid. Chuck is not hyped, he has defeated phenomenal fighter after phenomenal fighter eventhough strikers are his toughest opponents you still can't atek anythign from Chuck.
It will be an interesting fight to say the least, I sure hope Franklin has been training more on defense as his stye and all of his fights were 100% offense and there is always a time when you will have to fight a better and more technical striker than you so your defense must be great.

This would be a damn good fight to watch, and both would probably be more than happy to trade with one another. I actually say the winner of this fight becomes the No. 1 contender, and in Franklin's case, he'll probably have the option of taking a tune-up fight before a rematch with Anderson Silva.
Honestly, after Silva/Lutter, this has the feeling of a title eliminator. There are no other qualified top contenders, unless Marquardt destroys Lister on national TV, and even then, he doesn't have the same visibility or notoriety that Franklin and Swick have enjoyed. The only way I see the winner of Franklin/Swick NOT getting the next title shot would be if Matt Lindland came back to the UFC.

i still wouldnt give lindland a tittle shot if he came, let him fight someone and win, and if he dont destroy them, let him fight another then title anderson got it because he destroyed his fighter, i dont want to see none if this bullshit where they come in an get a title fight right away, after one fight is cool but there are people who have worked there ass off in ufc and havent had a chance say if swick beats franklin and gets sidelined again cuz of matt lindland thats bullshit cuz swick will have 6 wins in the ufc, and if rich wins again he gets the shot , let them work show there skill we all know matt is a bad dude but he should have one fight before just like anyone else, and nate marq i dont care if he does beat lister he still has another fight, he has the tools but let them prove it i dont care what they have done out side the ufc , i wouldnt want fedor to come in an get a title shot right away i want to see him kick the shit out of someone else first, same with lindland i want to see him kick some ass first,
