Strikeforce fighter Jason Mayhem Miller thinks CBS announcer Gus Johnson is an "idiot" for his comments at the end of the April Strikeforce show, and UFC announcer Joe Rogan agrees with that assessment.

In a wide-ranging discussion on Rogan's UStream show, Miller and Rogan expressed their agreement with what many MMA fans said immediately following the CBS broadcast: Johnson made a bad situation even worse by describing the brawl following the main event as the kind of thing that just sometimes happens in MMA.

Miller, who provoked the brawl that broke out in the cage by confronting Jake Shields following his victory in the main event, said that as he was being hit by Shields' entourage, "The freaking idiot Gus Johnson goes, 'Gentlemen, this is national television.' I'm like, 'Ha ha, no s**t'."

Rogan sounded disgusted as he then asked Miller, referring to Johnson, "What's up with that dude?"

His voice dripping with sarcasm, Miller said of Johnson, "He's the best commentator in mixed martial arts."

Rogan then said, "You're entitled to your opinion," before saying Johnson's voice makes him sound like he's "in a mold."

To some extent I think Miller is being unfair to Johnson here: Miller is, after all, the one who got the ugly events at the end of the Strikeforce show started. If Miller had stayed out of the cage, Johnson wouldn't have said what he said.

But while I've been a fan of Johnson's work on college basketball, I tend to agree with those who think Johnson doesn't bring his A-game to MMA.

well considering gus johnson is absolutely dreadful no surprise that rogans bashing him considering they do the same thing. pretty shocked mayhem dissed him considering he fights for strikeforce but good for him for telling it like it is.

doesnt matter if mayhem caused the fight or not. its gus we talking about. the guy sucks. he makes goldberg looks good and thats hard to do... i feel sorry for ramalo having to share commentaries with the guy.

Gus is terrible no question, but NOBODY can make Goldberg seem good. We actualy orderd ufc 116 in spanish just sm we wouldnt have to listen tn Goldberg.

I can't stand listening to ANY member of the sf commentators. Maybe it's simply due to the group around him, but IMO Ranallo has been horrible as well.

On a side note, it irritates me when Miller gets blamed for the brawl. How many times does a potential contender or next opponent come into the ring after a fight? All the damn time. The brawl was completely the responsibility of the gracie team. This wasn't the mean streets of stockton - it's was professional (and I use that term as losely as possible) athletes on their field of play.

Gotta agree with ya...without the Diaz's and Melendez going insane, there is no brawl....you can argue all you want whether Miller should have been in the cage or not, but the fact is it happens all the time, and without the brawls!

I really think there should only be two people commentating instead of three, especially in the case of Strikeforce, too many weird personalities clashing....it's very hard on the ears.

gus isn't very good & asks some real dumbass questions in the post fight. with that being said, mayhem is a tool.

however, big fan of mauro...always have been

Gus doesn't belong there. But he is there and I can't think of a worse commentating team in MMA than the one for Strikeforce.

Oh, and Miller isn't at fault. The Gracie team attacked him. Bunch of punks. I enjoy watching the Diaz brothers and Melendez fight, but the blame needs to be at their feet, not the lone guy they jumped.

As bad as Gus is, Rogan should not talk too much shit about a commentator, first of all because he is not the best at all and secondly because his partner is the worst commentator in the entire world.
