| UFC WrestleMania?
MMA/UFC WrestleMania???
WrestleMania is considered to be the “Granddaddy of them all” as far as PPVs are concerned, but one constant about WM is that it is the biggest Pro Wrestling Event of the year and has some of the biggest match ups possible for that year. For this idea, I don’t mean this idea as MMA fighters competing in wrestling, but a WrestleMania style PPV with ALL the big starts competing and ALL major titles being defended. Sound good?
Anyway, typically with UFC PPVs they have about 8-9 fights per card with about 5 of them scheduled for TV viewing and the events usually run about 3-4 hours. For the MMA Wrestlemania (They can call it “The Ultimate Fight” or something) You can up the cost to like $50 and have about 4-5 scheduled hours of fights about possibly have up to 12 fights scheduled for the card.
For this UFC PPV how does this sound for an All-Star Fight Card around June or July:
UFC Light Weight Title:
Sean Sherk vs. Joe Stevenson
Personally, I don’t know WHO would be next in line for the LW title, but I would think Jens Pulver, Joe Lauzon or if the rumors are true, BJ Penn would be perfect for this match. However IMO, the one who has earned it as of yet and would have a great fight is Joe Stevenson.
UFC Welter Weight Title:
Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes (3rd strike)
This should be around the time Hughes should be scheduled for the rematch for Pierre’s title and its far enough for Hughes to get another fight in against another opponent (which IMO is important for him to do so) to shake off some of that doubt.
UFC Middle Weight Title:
Anderson Silva vs. Rich Franklin (Rematch)
I think we all know this rematch is coming, Rich should be healed up by this time and I don’t see Silva losing the belt before this.
UFC Light Heavyweight Title:
This one will be different…. Since Tito and Chuck have not fought yet, it depends on that match up. If Tito beats Chuck then:
Tito Ortiz vs. Chuck Liddell (3rd strike)
If Chuck beats Tito in Decemeber, I don’t know who would be next in line, but I’d say push for the Wanderlei Silva fight or sign Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
UFC Heavy Weight Title:
Tim “The Bitch” Silvia vs. Brandon Vera
Yeah, now I’m writing this without knowledge of Crocop’s decision of where to fight as of yet. Now IF Crocop decides to come to the UFC and is here by this time, I’d love to see him kick Silvia’s ass, however I don’t think it would be good to hotshot him to the title even with his track record. I’d like to see some build up with Crocop, have him fight Chieck Kongo or some lesser guys and build him up for a title fight by his 3rd or 4th fight on his contract. Vera, IMO is the next in line for a title shot as he destroyed Frank Mir who is a former champion and beat Silvia pretty soundly. Either way Vera or Crocop would be great to see as champ!
UFC Undercard:
As I said there should be at least 5-7 under card fights scheduled because I doubt all those title fights will go the distance. I think a good idea would to be have #1 contender matches for each title as to balance the card and spread out the big pay day throughout all the divisions:
LW match:
Jens Pulver vs. BJ Penn/Kenny Florian
WW match:
Diego Sanchez vs. BJ Penn/Matt Serra
MW match:
Mike Swick vs. Chris Leben (because you KNOW they want to put him on the card!)
LHW match:
This one is dependant on WHO is the champ at the time, if Chuck is the champ:
Forrest Griffen vs. Tito Ortiz (rematch)
If Tito is champ:
Chuck Liddell vs. Quinton Jackson/Forrest Griffen
HW match:
If Crocop is signed by the UFC:
Mirko Cro Cop vs. Andrei Arlovski
If not:
Andrei Arlovski vs. Jeff Monson/someone
And special match ups to give that WrestleMania feel:
Renato Sobral vs. Big John McCarthy
&
Joe Rogan vs. Wesley Snipes
LOL @ the last two, but hey I really think that this idea could be really good and with all the great match ups, I don’t mind paying an extra $10 to watch it (me and my friends split the cost anyway).
Any thoughts?

wont happen, with ufc buying wec and wfa within a year or 2 all the shit fighters will be out and the struggling ones will be sent to wec and the up and commers will devlope and ufc should be filled with all good fighters , well not all, but it would be awsome to have a super fight ppv like 10 - 12 good name fights,

Remember when UFC used to Have ULTIMATE ULTIMATE? God I loved those shows, for some reason. But, I dont think a SUPERCARD is in the UFC's future any time soon, for this reason, They put on a PPV every month, what would they do for the rest of the year? As far as for a Supercard more likely, 7 fights, try this on for size.
Main Event
Liddel vs Forrest or Tito vs Forrest 2
Co-Main Event
Tim "the decision-iac" Sylvia vs Vera
Undercard (Some Ideas at least)
CroCop (if he signs) vs Arlovski
Bisping vs Hamil (everyone wants it)
Pete Sell vs Scott Smith 2
Karo vs BJ Penn (Fight of the Night Potential)
Hermes vs Stevenson
To me, that's a hell of a PPV thats got it all. PPV would like like this. Have it on the 4th of July weekend, call something like UFC 70: Right to Fight.
Come on? Is that not the card of the year? honestly?

i like the idea of a Wm type UFC...it would be cool...but then its leaves the ppv's after that kinda slim for a couple months...the reason WM works is cause wrestling is fake

The problem with this is for about 2 months leading up to the show and 2 months after the UFC cards would suck. Bc all the big names and good match ups would be on that one card.

Well IMO, there are two things to kind of "counter" the next PPVs from being weak:
1.) this ALL STAR UFC PPV has #1 contender matches sporadically through them setting things up for the rest of the year.
2.) the VERY next PPV should be sort of a "up and coming" PPV with all the mid to upper mid carders of each division battling it out to get the next #1 contender spots. You could have the next PPV be a bit cheaper ($30?) to off set the BIG PPVs higher cost and since there is no title fight for this PPV.
