It appears Chael Sonnen doesn’t only have a problem with UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva after he revealed former champ, Rich Franklin ducked him repeatedly for eighteen months as he issued challenge after challenge.

Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Sonnen said:

“I challenged Rich for 18 months, and he never responded. I challenged Anderson Silva for four years and he ducked me every bit of the way. I challenged both of those guys and in the process I fought 12 guys in the Top 10, beat 10 of them, beat every champion in every organization there’s ever been accept one, and that’s cause neither of those guys would give me my shot.”

“I beat the Elite XC champion, I’ve beat (the) Strikeforce champion, I beat Bodog’s champion, I beat (the) IFL’s champion, I beat the WEC champion twice. I beat every champion in every company that’s ever been, and there’s not another middleweight living today that can make that claim, except for the UFC champion and the math teacher wouldn’t fight me, and neither would the “Spider.” But he’s here now, and he’s not here on his own free will. He’s here because Uncle Dana made him do it.”

“The opponent just doesn’t matter. That’s what bullies do; that’s what Anderson does. Guys go out and they pick their fights, and they take easy fights. Fighting math teachers from Ohio, and one-legged guys from Canada, this is going to be a tremendous difference when he gets in there with an All-American from Portland, Ore.”

“I believe Vitor’s in line next, though that’s probably not who I would want to fight. I’ve got a guy in mind and I’ll challenge him on the night of the 7th, but I think Vitor’s who Uncle Dana has lined up as the next contender. In fact, when I am the champ, I don’t plan on giving Rich a title shot"

K' now Sonnen stepped over the line...attacking Rich "Ace" Franklin...one of the classiest guys in all MMA....BTW Chael, if "Uncle Dana" tells you to fight Ace, you WILL fight him!

Yeah, Rich is a teacher from Ohio who actually has the ability to finish fights...and not just lay on top of people until time runs out because he's afraid to get hit due to having terrible, slow standup

I sure hope Chael is enjoying his couple months of fame, because after he finally steps into the octagon with Silva, no one is going to give a flying fuck about him.

Come on Chael, we're waiting, bring the fight to Anderson like you said you would, you know the type of fight that's left you no finished fights in like 4 years, and no finished fights EVER against a top ranked opponent...and the type of fight that has made you quit 7 times

for all the smack talk sonnen had for silva i accepted it with a good sense of humor but i lost a bit of respect for him, rich is a standup guy no pun intended, and since chael knows rich wont venture back to middleweight its kind of lame actually very lame that he is disrepecting franklin, if and most likely when he loses he better man up and offer to face rich at 205 and get KTFO and if dana tells him fight rich he will fight him i wonder if he loses to silva is he going to retire because it kind of sounds like this is his one and only chance

Does anybody even care anymore about what chael has to say. This way past the point of annoying. I hope Anderson breaks this guys jaw so he has to get it wired shut. Woouldnt that be some irony for ya.

No he didnt, Filho has him in a armbar and he yelled but didnt want the ref to step in he was just venting. And he beat him in the rematch, easily. It was actually a pathetic fight for Filho.
