| who wins a franklin machida re-match?
with zuffa acquiring fighters from the wfa, its possible they pick up lyoto. we could possibly see a re-match between him and rich. id like to see machida fight anderson as well. im so much more excited about see machida possibly join the mw ranks and getting shots at the top dogs than seeing matt lindland.

I don't give Rich much chance against against him, Lyoto totally owned Rich on his feet and on the ground. He pushed Rich around.
I just watched it again and yeah Rich did what he does, I think he'd lose again lol. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...21941886452328 |

I don't know if there would even be a rematch. Franklin fights at 185 now and Lyoto fights at 205. I don't really see Franklin moving back up any time soon.

I believe Machida would pull out the victory. He seems to me like a future champion. I noticed he defeated BJ Penn which is impressive even though BJ is giving up 30 pounds. The only thing that disturbs me is he went to decision with Vernon White. White just lost to Bobby Southworth, yes the loser from TUF1.

Very true. But I still can't believe the "Tiger" lost to Bobby Southworth. I almost fell on the floor laughing when I saw that. I heard it was a terrible fight, Big Timmay! style

What would you do if you were a hyped fighter whos game was strictly offensive and had a suspect chin, you would drop to MW where your road to riches are defeating the likes of Tanner and the Crow as opposed to LHW where you would have to defeat Tito, Babalu and Chuck.
Newly updated UFC LHW division - Rampage, Chuck, Babalu, Tito, Rashad, Bisping and possibly Machida, trust me, Franklin wants NONE of that.
MW roster - A. Silva, Lister, Marquart, Lutter, Leben, yes thre is where he wants to be eventhough there is a kryptonite road block being A. Silva, it is much easier to defeat 1 world class fighter than have to defeat 5-6 of them at LHW.
To address the topic, if the fight did take place again, Machida would dominate him again. Machida has great standup, movement, and a ground game, I see Franklin getting put out if his misery yet again.

ok since alot of you guys are hung up on the weight, what if machida drops to 185. for the same reason the path tp the belt is hard for rich, machida has to follow that same path. Quote:

| if rich only has to worry about silva. than machida only needs to worry about him too. so why not drop down and take a shot at being a champ.

But Machida is perfect for 205lbs, him dropping down just to fight Franklin again when the outcome is basically certain is pretty pointless. He has fought his entire career at 205 and been extremely effective as he is undefeated in MMA so him dropping to 185 would likely never happen. Typically that only happens when you are strugglign at a certain weight or are Rich Franklin and have a weak chin so you must avoid Chuck and the heavier handed LHW's.
