| BJ Penn: Frankie Edgar Won't Run His Way To A Win At UFC 118 BJ Penn: Frankie Edgar Won't Run His Way To A Win At UFC 118 - FightLine.com Quote:
Former UFC Lightweight Champion BJ Penn has found motivation for his upcoming rematch against the man who took his belt, Frankie Edgar, in the fact that he doesn't believe Edgar deserved to take his belt. In a recent UFC-released promo for their impending UFC 118 scrap, Penn says that Edgar did more moving than fighting and that in their second meeting he will not allow the fight to go to the judges so that Edgar and his team can persuade themselves into a victory.
"He's running around," said Penn. "Just step up and fight. And then I see his whole team run and pick him up. All your boys put you on their shoulders and dance you around in front of the judges and try to steal the victory. I'm not gonna be a part of that. Whatever, man. That's the man you are. You're the Ultimate Fighting Champion? Okay. I got you. It's a joke."
Penn is one of the most accomplished lightweights in the sport and is widely considered to be one of the best pound-for-pound competitors to ever lace up a pair of four ounce gloves. The proud Hawaiian believes that Edgar is only going to try to improve on the game plan that he implemented the first time around and that it won't be enough to stop "The Prodigy."
"I'm not afraid to exchange with him in any way," said Penn. "I don't think he wants to exchange with me. He's going to be running around. He's just going to try to jazz up what he did last time. A little quicker, a little better, maybe throw in a little kick. His corner, they don't have much to work with. They've just got little Frankie Edgar. They don't have the knockout king or the submission king. They've just got Frankie Edgar."
The fact that Penn seems fired up about this fight only makes it that much more of a tantalizing fight. Tune in on August 28th to see two of the best lightweight MMA fighters in the world battle for the top spot again at UFC 118: Edgar Vs. Penn II. The fight is going down at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
| Good job Frankie, you had to go and piss BJ off with your little comments, didn't you? BJ sounds like he's going to rip "little Frankie Edgars" head off!!! WAR BJ!!!!!!

If BJ just stands and pivits while Frankie runs cirlces, even if he doesnt get the better of the exchanges he will steal the win again.

Of course BJ is pissed off for this fight. Somehow EVERYBODY seems to do something that makes him angry.
The problem is not with his opponents. The only constant here is BJ.

OK, agian I am going to start this by saying I am not a BJ nuthugger but,
Frankie gets run through this time around IMO. BJ has a great chin, TDD, striking, BJJ and I bet he comes in really good shape. BJ by TKO or sub RD 2

BJ always runs his mouth about how tough he's going to be in a fight and he's usually right, but we all saw how good he did when he was mad against GSP (BJ said they were gonna fight to the death and then had his corner stop the fight after the 4th round). And BJ has a 1-2 record in rematches with the only rematch win being against a past his prime Jens Pulver.
I do feel that BJ will win the rematch, but I'm not picking against Frankie Edgar anymore, I thought he had absolutely no chance when he fought Sherk (I thought Sherk pretty much out-classed Frankie in every area) and I thought he had no chance against BJ, but somehow he keeps winning, so I'm taking Frankie in the rematch.

can't wait for this rematch, I think that BJ is going to take it but I said that the first time. I will say the first fight wasn't all that exciting hope BJ takes this one seriously. Oh and for the record I have no problem with Frankie I like him but I just think BJ is taking this one.
