Every fighter has his time. It is hard to stay on top for ever. For your body and mind to stay this motivated for ever is difficult. He has a family now and other priorities in life. Edgar looked hungry and had a great game plan.

BJ needs to find a new camp to train with or switch things up. BJ is clearly the big dog in the camp and the one in charge. If he wishes to succeed he needs better people around him. BJ should have been training his jits full on for this fight - he knew coming in that Edgar would dance around and jab so the counter would be to dominate him on the ground. But beyond the flexibility and ground defense displayed, his jits could not hold position and did not look like the black belt he is. I am extremely saddened that BJ thinks he is mini Chuck Liddel. He should be using every tool he has to win rather than box. Round 4 came around and BJ took him down and attempted to work something from there but Edgar had multiple reversals. Had he trained and came in with it as a gameplan, I think the fight would have went differently. Everyone keeps telling him how good his striking is, but his jits is far superior and he looked amateur against Edgar.
His brother offers little technical advice beyond "You've gotta fuckin knock him out man". His corner was a joke last night. Definitely he needs to be surrounded by better people come fight time. Maynard will come in the with winning gameplan to keep that dancing Edgar grounded because he trains with a proper camp rather than giving himself a reason to employ his brother like Penn does.

Ive never liked BJ and its annoying now that every time he looses he comes back "excited, prepared, motivated, etc" and a "motivated" BJ is unbeatable and this and that.
two people that supposedly have "Controversial" wins to BJ have manhandled him on the second occasion. GSP made his corner toss in the towel and now Edgar completely shattered him.
I still have my respects to BJ as a fighter, the guy has alot of talent, and if he was to really sit down with another camp and see his fights or his skills from a different perspective, man he can be a greater fighter than he already is naturally, I also dont think he is done per say, but his Era definitely is, Its Franky's time to shine! I'm just waiting for BJ's camp to "leak" BJ's excuse for a second loss. I'm gonna guess he has some sort of cancer that doesn't exist or maybe a staph infection on his penis. I'm gonna hope for the second one.

This article is a farce. The author must think hes pretty special being the one this whole time that KNEW Bj was overrated. Not having lost at Lw in 8 years and being only 1 of 2 men to ever win a belt in different weight classes, that must just all be the media making stuff out to be bigger them it really is right. Did Jake Rossen write this?

I was suprised how easily BJ takedown Frankie... If he had decent and smart corner people and good game plan he could win , he came same as last time he didnt do kick didnt try for TD... I think if BJ comes in with good gameplan he could win...

I guess a fighter is only as good as his last fight.
Lets just discount everything the most dominant LW in UFC history has done because another fighter apparently has his number.

Don't know how you can say Penn is over rated...his only loss's were to St.Pierre X2, Matt Hughes, Lyoto Machida, and Pulver, and now 2 too Edgar, and for all we know, Edgar could go down as one of the greats himself.
Hughes was near the top of his game when he beat Penn, and remember, Penn was dominating that fight until he got hurt....Penn, may have even won fight 1 with GSP..it was a razor thin decision, and Machida outsized Penn big time!

I sure can't wait to watch another Countdown to UFC to hear Penn tell us how if Edgar's corner didn't lift him on their shoulders for their second fight, he might not have won. Nice advice though last night from his corner, telling him so eloquently to "get that cocksucker." Delusion's of a champion is right, B.J.
