He had to be well over 200 pounds. I was hoping Alves would fight Anthony Johnson next, but when I saw Rumble in the crowd he looked like he weighed 230. Can't imagine he's fighting anytime soon.
As for Pitbull-Doomsday, I'm not sure who to predict. I gotta go with Alves just because he's more proven and is capable of doing a lot more damage than Ellenberger.

this fight is oozing with brain trauma infested highlight reel action, peirce can go fight jake ellenberger and bore us to death is fitch-like fashion, pitbull and doomsday are going to steal the show as i see gsp finsihing koscheck by late round two/early three armbar.

I am really surprised at this matchup?
I mean, Thiago looked like shit against Fitch, but he spend the whole time on his back.
To give him John Howard is pretty far down the line, considering he just got beat up by Ellenberger.
This makes no sense besides they are in fear of losing Thiago as a star and wants him to get a nasty KO.
Paulo Thiago VS Thiago Alves would have been much better.

Mike pierce would not be able to "fitch" ellenberger have you seen ellenbergers last three fights ? they have all been exciting as fuck !!! Condit vs jake was awsome. Jake vs pyle and he finished him. Unlike fitch who dosent finish shit. And jake vs howard was fucking great !! And unlike fitch again jakes gnp is brutal. howards eye was doneee for. His wrestling is great ! And jake isnt scared to BANG. He stood in front of howard for a majority of the fight. And did some damage. Idk i feel Ellenberger deserves a top 10 like alves. Even tho i like doomsday.

I'm surprised so many people think Howard will win this. For one thing, Alves takedownd defense against guys like Howard is phenominal. Fitch is one of the craftiest wrestlers in the world at WW, which is why he could do that to Alves, whereas Koscheck, who is an Okie style wrestler, never got anything off. Howard is much closer, wrestling wise, to Koscheck, and I don't see him getting his on the mat.
In the stand-up world, this isn't even close. Alves has the more accurate and harder punches, while Howard's muay thai isn't up to par with the top part of this division. I think this will be an early fight for Alves, provided he leaves the leg kicks at home.

i think this fight will be really entertaining and could go either way. i really dont see it going to the ground at all unless one guy gets rocked and they go for the takedown. i agree with you that alves muay thai is more crisp than howard's, howard has more of a brawling muay thai style which shouldn't be underestimated though.
