Seriously dude? Seems a bit drastic don't you think? The man is still a top 5 for sure and could still evolve his game to some degree.

Looking at it from a perspective that he'll probably be working off his back, I think his jits is more refined and able to be improved upon moreso than his wrestling and utilizing a better guard and sweeps may be more condusive to a better defense against wrestlers considering how Kenny approaches that stylsitic fight.
Saved me the trouble. I agree 100%. I don't understand how anyone, including Kenny, can think that training wrestling now is going to help. He didn't learn his lesson against Sherk & Maynard? What if he faces Dunham?

He's a jiu-jitsu guy. He needs to learn how to work from his back. He could train for 2 years on tdd and fighters like Maynard and Dunham would still take him down. I think Kenny Florian, as good as he has been, is showing that he doesn't know how to approach this phase of his career. I think that we've seen the last of his title runs. Don't get me wrong, I hope he keeps fighting, but I see others passing him by.

Ok first of all it would absolutely help against Sherk. You can't compare Sherk and Maynard. Sherk is a nobody as far as wrestling. His pedigree is far less than mine, and Maynard's is far above mine.

If Kenny can't learn to stop Sherk's takedowns he should quit fighting. Takedown defense will absolutely help. Saying takedown defense training won't help is ridiculous.

Now can he learn to stop Maynard's takedowns? Sometimes. But no he'll never stop all of them.

Listen I agree somewhat, but TD defense will help him. He needs it.
