“We are working on building, like for instance the heavyweight decision. Look at the heavyweights we’ve built in 18 months. We are doing that in the lightweight, middleweight and welterweight division. We are looking to put on the best fights possible. If someone becomes available that we like we are going to try to get him. If it’s someone who has fought in the past and we think he will be a good fit now, we will bring him in. If they come available we will do our best to grab them.

We have been talking to Josh for six months. He wants to fight Fedor, Arlovski, Alistair, Fabricio, and Big Foot. He wants to fight all those guys. Things got intense in the last 45 days and the last two weeks we realized he really wants to do this and we are happy to have him on board. If you look at the heavyweight division in STRIKEFORCE now, you realize there really aren’t going to be any easy fights. There are going to be some great heavyweight matchups and I am excited to put all these together.”

Speaking at the Diaz vs Noons II Media Conference Call, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker related to the additions of Jorge Masvidal, Josh Barnett and Paul Daley to the Strikeforce roster. Strikeforce will return on October 9th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California with a stacked "San Jose" fight card, headlined by a Welterweight showdown between KJ Noons and Nick Diaz. Womens 135-pound title fight between Marloes Coenen and Sarah Kaufman will serve as the co-main event of the night.

I give Scott Coker credit. In the last 2 years, he has made some pretty big signings. They have made a top notch HW division, and is clearly doing the same with the LW division. They have an okay MW division, but lack in the LHW and WW (especially WW!).

Strike Force is just sad. They continue signing drug abusers, rule breakers and people that just couldn't hack it in the UFC.

They have made some great signings, but they have also made some horrible ones too.

Ive seen them sign a few UFC cast-offs,and some other talent, their challengers series is really good,but I dont know if those guys can break into the SF top 5.

Cmon bro!!! "rule breakers!!!" lol. This is the fight game not a fuckin game show. Your really complaining about Josh barnett one of the greatest ever being signed?! Also Paul Daley and Jorge masividal?!! If there is one fight fan in the world that wouldn't want to watch Daley vs Diaz then they aren't a real fight fan. And ufc castaways?! Who former champion and ultra talented arlovski? And also werdum that was NOT a ufc castaway he was next for a title shot untill they held him back. Then he lost and left ON HIS OWN WILL. He wasn't kicked out. Besides why is that the measuring stick?! So if you leav the ufc to fight somewere else you must suck now?' fuck that shit. I guess Henderson also sucks now even though he's the same exact guy. But the ufc somehow gives you extra power and when you leave there gone. I think ita funny when a ufc fighter goes to anoter organazation and loses. Then peoe say " see that's why he's not in the ufc anymore" hoe about a ufc fighter just got his ass kicked by someone from another organazation ecause they also have world class fighters. Ufc is not the only organazation. There are far too many ufc fans that aren't mma fans.

I dont give a sh*t about Josh Barnnet roids, I just want to see him fighting again againts all those big names in SF. Josh Barnett is a great fighter and people want to see him.
