Bigfoot has the edge on the ground(Yes, I said it). Sure Valentijn has good submissions but 15 of his losses are by submission and Bigfoot Silva has a decent offensive ground game, and a spectacular defensive ground game.

Sure, Valentijn has a more diverse and complete stand-up game, with kicks and good knee's, Bigfoot has a better chin, no question and has more power in his hands in my opinion, and Valentijn isn't known for having a good chin.

I'll admit, Valentijn is a very exciting fighter to watch, and only 2 of his fights have ever went to a decision, and only like 3 of his fights ever went to the second round, so he does go out there to kill or be killed, and I love that mentality. Bigfoot is an exciting fighter as well IMO. But I see a big KO from Silva here, because I can't see Valentijn finishing Bigfoot and Valentijn doesn't have the cardio to go 3 hard rounds with Silva. I say Overeem is exhausted before the first bell, and Silva pounces.

I agree with your assesment of how the fight will play out but I can't rag on Bigfoot much. He did say he wants to fight the best but I think the most important part of that statement is just that he wants to fight. How can he fight the best(in SF) when they are either out for surgery or having a back and forth bitchfest about who is ducking who, or fighting elsewhere? At least he's staying busy , making that money.

True, I agree he does not say no to a fight, but declining a fight, and saying, "I want a top contender" is a different story..And he may have said that but I think waiting another month or 3 and waiting for a big fight is more intriguing to the fans and for him to prove he deserves a title shot and a fight with Fedor. But I can't disagree with you my friend, he wants to fight and if this was his only option for now then I suppose he doesn't care about the criticism he'll get for it.

Really? I never thought that Werdum would be a gimme for Fedor. I see this as the set up for a blood feud between Alistair and Bigfoot, Ubereem will have to avenge Ewbereem.

This is a holding fight for Big Foot,to keep the rust off,and to see if their new Overeem is any good.

I have no problem with this fight at all. Let's fans take a look at Bigfoot again. Strikeforce has only shown 2 BigFoot fights. I don't remember watching the Silva vs Werdum fight live during the Fedor vs Rogers event. Last fight he had against Arlovski was more of a coming out party for Silva....especially in Strikeforce.

In his last 2 fights Silva has faced real impressive guys...guys I feel were ranked higher than him. Last fight we were introduced to Silva's new jab and boxing skills.

I find this up coming fight for Silva is an easier fight, but like I have said, I have no problems with a fighter having one easier fight a year....to display his skills, and in this case, it might develop a blood feud. Which is great.

Mini-overeem has little chance at winning this one unless he can KO him with a wild hook or overhand or wild jumping knees.

I expect a 2rd round stoppage by Silva, but I'm happy to see both guys fighting. Maybe winner faces Brett Rogers.....or get mini-overeem to lose a little weight and fight Babalu again.

But Brett is busy fighting outside of Strikeforce North of the border. A warm up fight or a showcase fight....I just hope he doesn't stumble and comes back to Strikeforce ready to KO some HWs.
