Fighting George Sotiropoulos

Never one to take my time at anything… I am fighting again November 20th at UFC123! This time, it will be against George Sotiropoulos. George is 6-0 in the UFC and 13-2 overall. His two losses have come from a DQ over a groin strike and a split decision loss.
George is a monster with impressive wins over Kurt Pellegrino and Joe Stevenson. He has good boxing and REALLY slick Jiu-Jitsu. He uses a lot of rubber guard from the bottom and is absolutely relentless from the top with his passing. I think he is going to be bigger than me as well, as he was on The Ultimate Fighter at 170 before dropping down to 155.
While I am sure I will be the underdog going into this one, I like how my skills match off with George’s. There has been talk about George getting a title shot in Australia if he wins his next fight, but I am going to throw a wrench in those plans. I’m the underdog, with an uphill battle coming and big plans for the other guy after he beats me… but I am good at ruining those kinds of plans. Getting some Deja Vu of the Jens Pulver fight camp already.
I had a great camp last time out which I have been building on. I was fortunate enough to come out of the fight with Gabe without a scratch on me, so I was right back into the gym hitting it hard a week after the fight. I didn’t really lose anything and could fight tomorrow if needed. I am just working to keep my output up and keeping everything sharp. This is like the 9th straight month I have been in fight camp and I have been building with every session.
I’m still lifting with Kyle at MBSC and boxing as usual. I worked a lot of Jiu-Jitsu with Abmar for the last fight but have also started working out with some other guys as well. The last couple days have been 4 sessions a day and I am just killing it in training.
The UFC countdown show is coming out to film today… so you will hopefully get to see some of the stuff I have been doing. Train Hard, Win Easy.
Be sure to follow my twitter to keep up on my training and everything else.
| Potential for a GREAT fight!!!! I'll be pulling for Lauzon.

This is the rare time when I wish both fighters could get the win. But I have to go with George, he flew under the radar for awhile, but hes such a beast, and very fun to watch. I too think he can beat Edgar and Maynard, but its MMA so anything can happen.

This is gonna be a great, classic BJJ matchup (hopefully). Lauzon's speed and crisp textbook BJJ versus Sotiropoulos' aggressive rubber guard techniques. Personally, I don't even want to see a single standing punch exchanged in this match.

I do think that Boy George has the edge on the ground though, and could possibly catch Lauzon.
On their feet I don't know how to call it. This could be a pretty even fight right here. I'll be happy with whoever wins, I just hope this lives up to be the exciting fight that it ought to be

Damn, one fight where I really dont want to see either guy lose.
I am a huge Lauzon fan. Really like that guy and his approach to fighting. His attitude and his skills.
I wish George would have stayed at 170 actually because he looks anemic at 155. Either way I think George is just too much on the feet for Joe. This will def get to the ground and I see George whipping some mean elbows to a TKO. Shit I hate to think it but Joe is in for a fight in this one.

123 card is looking good. I have been holding off on buying tickets until the card is closer to finalized.
