For you fanboys that believe featherweight champion Jose Aldo emerged as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter after put Manny Gamburyan to sleep at WEC 51, UFC president Dana White says no way, Jose. Is that joke old yet?
“Are you [expletive] nuts? Potential future pound-for-pound king. Anderson Silva hasn’t lost since 2006! He’s never lost in the UFC!” White told ComcastCalifornia.com late Thursday night.
While the Octagon’s middleweight champ owns more highlight-reel footage than a first-time father, he’s also posted four consecutive lackluster title defenses.
“Yeah. He [expletive] won! And he’s 35 years old. You media geeks need to learn the fight biz,” White smugly stated. “I’m at dinner right now, but you’re really pissing me off.
“Anderson Silva is a pain in my ass. This isn’t Chuck Liddell, we aren’t best friends. But you can’t deny what the man has done.”
The planet’s baddest 185-pounder owns a dominant 27-4 resume and has posted devastating finishes in 20 of his W’s. Silva is currently enjoying a 13-fight win streak and was last seen miraculously escaping UFC 117 with his crown.
Despite how esthetically unappealing “The Spider’s” last few championship bouts have been, he’s still stockpiling wins at an impressive clip. It was a fact the outspoken promoter was quick to spotlight.
“[Silva] hasn’t lost in the UFC. The guy has not only cleared out his division, he’s gone up to 205 and beaten a guy like Forrest Griffin (former light heavyweight champ), who beat Rampage Jackson and (current champion) Shogun Rua,” White said of Anderson’s credentials.
“And Frankie Edgar is right there too. I might actually put him at No. 2. This guy is for real. He beat BJ Penn twice, and kicked his ass in their last fight. I love and respect Manny Gamburyan, but he’s no BJ Penn. And the only thing keeping [UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre] out of the Top 3 is (a UFC 69 KO loss) to Matt Serra.”

i know anderson won his last fight but when was the last time you saw GSP dominated like that? from matt serra? plus what he's done since then has more than made up for it. GSP would destroy anderson like sonnen did with his wrestling & would probably sub him

i completely understand dana saying that, you come to expect that from him, whenever a fighter outside the ufc is among the top p4p dana will mention his guys and rightfully so, even though he can come off as arrogant sometimes. I can understand him saying anderson and gsp, but frankie edgar, GTFO that is a joke and it disgusts me, he may be on a lot of peoples p4p list but #2 really?
wonder why he didnt say gsp. I know that frankie doesnt do the the lnp wrestling style but as already mentioned he does not have big finishing ability but even worse he always tries to point fight. Maynard vs. edgar is going to be pathetic.

rivethead to dana white: People who don't understand what pound for pound means should not speak about the subject.
He's right, Aldo isn't top 5. But neither is Edgar. Not even close. But then, he's touted Anderson as #1 for so long, he's never known what p4p actually means, anyway.

Edgar ranked pfp?!! What a joke! Anderson hasn't lost since 2006?! Is he really bragging about that yet he talked shot about fedor saying he is a clown and he sucks when fedor still hadn't lost in ten fucking years?! Just like most rookie mma "fans" today, he only is a fan of the ufc and not the sport. Ever notice how everyother mma promotion will at least mention the ufc, talk about past ufc fights but in the ufc you can never ever mention another promotion or fighter from another promotion? Stop acting like if your not currently fighting in the ufc you suck. White even trashes ex champions of the ufc saying they suck now even if there reason for leaving wasn't due to a loss.
