The WEC needs to die. It's horrible business strategy to market the UFC brand nonstop then expect people to recognize the WEC while rarely if ever advertising it on UFC programming. Just fold the Featherweight and Bantamweight divisions into the UFC so every PPV can have at least one title fight so we can avoid PPV's headlined by nearly pointless fights like Mir-Cro Cop. As for 155, release the lower half of the division and have the top half (Henderson, Cerrone, Varner, etc) fight guys like Florian, Gomi, and Guida to see just how talented they really are.
Aldo and Cruz probably shouldn't main event PPV's by themselves, but they'd add a ton of value to the co-main event slots as well as legitimize cards that are filled with star power but little relevance in terms of rankings. Bantam and Feather fights are also action packed and rarely disappoint, unlike their heavier counterparts.
And before anyone says that lighter fighters don't draw...Manny Pacquiao, Marco Antonio Barerra, Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Prince Naseem Hamed, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Floyd Mayweather tend to disagree. In time Aldo, Cruz, Faber, Torres, and others will be just as well known and will draw accordingly.
Lastly, I just want to see the smaller guys get paid. They deserve it.

Maybe he'll secure a network deal for WEC just like he did with UFC!

It's either gonna be the introduction of Women to the WEC or Midgets. I'm praying for both......Please Baby Jesus...make...this....happen!

I read about an "international tournament" format (maybe on here) presented by the UFC. Maybe it will feature stars from both promotions.

I really hope this is about the merger of the UFC/WEC. It makes no sense to keep them separated, when merging them would just make the UFC a far more dominant force.
But, as the rest of you guys have said, it's best to wait until the actual announcements are made, because White has a habit of making empty promises.

It wouldn't sell AS much at first sure, but you gotta give these guys the chance to make an even bigger name for themselves and market the fights correctly. If UFC 119 and UFC 120 (even though it's free) can main event, then "Jose Aldo UFC Featherweight Champion" vs. whothefuckever sure can.

How much do you want to be this "Huge News" will either be:
A) more ppv cards, in which we would have otherwise got for free
B) WEC versions of TUF
or both
Either way, whether its A) B) or both, that would be FAR from huge news
Please Dana, just bring these divisions into the UFC. It would solve SO many problems.
A) These guys would get the pay they deserve
B) These guys would get the exposure and recognition they deserve
C) Any time these guys were on a card, you wouldn't have to stand up at a press conference afterwards and apologize for a poor showing because the 145/135ers bring it every single time

IMO it's going to be the merger. I was just reading somewhere a few weeks ago about the UFC's expansion around the world. they talked about moving into Asia and more shows in Europe. One of the things he said that sticks out to me is that for this expansion to be viable that they would have to expand the weight classes in order to fill out the cards and that would provide more title fights on the cards also. He didn't mention WEC by name but it seemed rather obvious to me what he was getting at.
