They'll be able to main event PPV's alone in time, but to start it'd make the transition easier if they had strong co-main events with well known fighters like Frank Mir, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Shane Carwin, Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, etc.

I can't think of a WEC announcement that would blow my mind. The WEC shows have been top-notch, but I don't see what they could do to make us, the fans, jump out of our chairs.

The closest thing, and it's not mind blowing, that I can think of would be to get the 125lb division up and running and bring in some more overseas fighters.

I, for one, hope its not the merger. Yeah there are guys in the WEC that I'd like to see compete in the UFC because they just seem to be above and beyond the rest of the pack in WEC. But a complete merger? No. As long as the WEC stays under the standard that the UFC sets for themselves, we get twice as many (usually high caliber) events. I personally like having the WEC events free on Versus. I admit I did pay for Aldo/Faber and got what I paid for. But I dont want to pay for other WEC events on ppv. Im not thrilled with the $50 tag on UFC ppvs anyway and only being guaranteed 5 fights anyway. So getting free WEC events on Versus suits me fine.

The UFC wont expand a UFC card, meaning broadcast more than the minimal 5 fights usually shown. They wont expand a live card, meaning have 20 fights instead of 12. The only thing I can see that would be doable is have either cross-promotion events or creating a 125lb division. They may merge the 155lb division into the UFC, but they should leave the 135 and 145lb divisions alone.

With Dana's refusal to cross-promote with any other non-Zuffa organization, I cant imagine what would truly "blow our minds". My gut says that Dana's hyping a potentially anti-climatic "mind-blowing".

If they merge with UFC then that would be great news for Bellator since the fighters not given a chance to join the UFC would be great pickups for Bellator.

If the WEC merges with the UFC, I hope they put together some "Best of WEC" and saturate Spike with it, that way more fans can see the WEC fighters, and how awesome they are.

aldo is a beast, he is an elite talent that could easliy beat a lot of top lw's. I know a lot of people are up on the young career of evan dunham, but who would you favor in aldo vs. dunham? Aldo has blazing speed and some sick striking, and a good ground game as well.

I would definitely favour Aldo in that match-up. Dunham's got some great skills but hasn't shown the sort of dominance like Aldo has. We haven't really seen Aldo in any sort of trouble, and I think that Dunham still has a long long way to go until he really hits his prime. Obviously the same applies for Aldo, but Aldo has been performing like someone much older than he is. When Aldo hits his prime I think he will be unstoppable.
