Any fight between these four will be the marque fights on ppv. I really don't know where you are comming from with a statement like that.

I think what he was trying to say is that if every 170lb fighter had to either go through Hughes or Penn to earn a title shot then only Hughes and Penn would ever receive a title shot. BC there is no one else besides GSP that can beat Hughes and Penn.

It could be boring because we'd see 3 guys facing each other over and over and over again. Let some diversity in. Let guys like Diego and Karo get title shots. That's how it's pretty much always been in the UFC. Guys like Jeremy Horn and Nate Quarry are allowed title shots without beating the former #1 contenders. It shakes things up.

OK that makes sense, but I still don't think it would be boring. And at this point I think to be number in ww you have to beat all three. In what order and does it have to be after a title match up? I don't think it really matters.

Well because Karo and Diego will lose they should at least be primed if they are to fight the top comp.

Well after a while with these guys only fighting each other all the time then, yeah I think it would get kinda boring. I would still watch.

I think it goes without saying GSP/Penn/Hughes are the top three in the class Regarding the rest, Diego,Karo and others i think the jury is still out on alot of them and where they factor.

I feel Diego atleast desrves to be looked at in the title picture purely for his 6 win streak in the UFC but i dont think he should get a shot yet. I think he needs one more solid win before the belt.

I posted in another thread my ideal fight sequence for the next few things and i think it addresses alot of good points so Ill just copy it here.

GSP v Serra (as we know its going to happen)

BJ v Hughes Rubber match

Diego v Winner of BJ/Hughes 3

Winner v Winner of GSP v Serra (which, I think im not alone in thing GSP should have no trouble winning. No disrespect to Serra)

Way I look at it all good matchups. BJ v Hughes puts a deciding factor on their little series. Diego v winner works out well no matter who. As either of the two I feel are the final benchmark Diego needs before the title shot. No matter who wins and how it works out I feel the shot would be due.

BJ gets the shot it will be because he's beat Matt 2 times and gets to avenge a loss

Hughes gets the shot becuase he proved himself to still be at the top by beating a very credible Penn and gets his rematch.

Diego gets the shot literally he has beaten all there is to beat. If he beats Hughes after a 2nd victory over Penn or if he faces Penn after a second victory over Hughes you cant really agrue that hes beat the best in the divison not counting the champ.

My problem with that is then it goes to either Hughes/Diego or BJ/Diego, at which point we end up with GSP/Penn 2 or Hughes/GSP 4. Then GSP/Penn 3 or Penn/Hughes 4. And on and on and on. Look at virtually any champion you can think of, who's defended more than twice. Champions don't always defend against their first or second closest competition over and over again. Sometimes they even lose when facing a #4 or #5 competitor. That's what makes it interesting.

We already know they're doing GSP-Serra in February and GSP-Hughes III in April, so what should Diego do in the mean time? Putting him in against Penn would be the only logical next step for Diego if it's not Hughes or GSP - which it can't be. Where is Penn and is he staying at 170 or is he moving to 155? He's said both, I think the most recent was that he isn't leaving 170, but who knows? Say they can't do Penn-Diego for whatever reason, 170 title picture is locked up for another 5-6 months. Diego can't take a half year off. What should they do with him? I say Diego-Koscheck II.

I wouldnt use Diegos name in the same sentence with GSP, Penn, or Hughes. So what if he is a TUF fighter. That doesnt make him an elite talent ot the division. Id put him in the top 4. Thats really all. The top 3 in the ww division are close: GSP, Hughes, and Penn. Diego is a distant 4th.

Stick that "same sentence" shit up you ass. Come up with something original if you're going to try and blast me. GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego, GSP vs. Diego all day up your ass.
