So with no opponents obviously Fedor is not fighting anyone. | I believe he wants to fight, but I guess its the "Russian demeanor" that gives one the feeling that he couldn't give a shit one way or the other. My issue is the consistency of his fighting. I recall discussing on this forum at one point the reason that Fedor fights. He had said something to the effect of not fighting for money or fame, etc and we discussed what his motivation is to fight. Dont get me wrong...I'll watch Fedor when he fights, but its such a cat/mouse game to get him signed to fight, I've just lost a certain degree of "give a shit". I realize that is his management, but nevertheless....
Has Overeem mentioned fighting in the UFC? Has Dana mentioned Overeem?

Coker listed eight HW's there. I wonder if the "plan" is an eight-man tourny. That would actually get me to be excited for a SF card.

hope so, tired of no exciting hw fights in strikeforce and we'll have to wait until next year. I hope werdum gets back as fast as possible so fedor can make him stfu and ko him for his revenge, and then fight AO and barnett.

So Fedor is averaging a fight every 11 months the past 3 years. Exactly who is to blame for that? His management? Fedor? Barnett?
I am still trying to grasp why Coker (and some here) thinks he has the best HW division in MMA. Its completely overrated. Does he have arguably IMO the best HW in history under some sort of contract? Yes fedor is the best in history hands down.
Who is next? The SF HW Champion Overeem? Who has fought for Strikefarce 3 times in his 11 year career. Before defeating Brett Rodgers in May he fought in 2007 and then a year and half before that against Vitor. Yeah he has fought quite a bit in between. But who has he beaten? Its better to look at who he has LOST to.
Then who Barnett, Werdum, Silva, Arlovski and Rodgers?
Werdum...ok he beat Fedor with skill and smarts, so logically he could be considered a good HW, but not great. Certainly not the best IMO. Who exactly has he beaten?
Silva...Another guy who hasnt really beaten anyone if you are looking at rankings. Considering all the talk about why Fedor is the best, he hasnt fought and beaten any top ten guys. Maybe you could put AA there but thats a stretch at this point in AA's career.
Rodgers..I wont even go into Rodgers. I will let that soak on its own merit.
Barnett...Yeah he has had a descent career amid constant positive drug tests. Exactly who has he beaten? In 5 years time Rizzo, Monson, Rodrigo and Aleks. Not bad. But the best? Not even close. Even if you analyze JDS from the UFC HW division, you would clearly rank him Number 2 in that division at minimum and Fedor number one by a thread.
Do they have talent? Sure. And some exciting fights if they were to actually fight before having to collect social security. These guys arent getting any younger. Fedor is coming back next year and fighting probably after a one year layoff and will be 36. Barnet is going to be 34-35? They better get a move on before they have to have handicap matches like the WWE...
The best HW division? No f'in way

Plans for heavyweights= actually having them fight for the divisional title?
Sounds like a plan.

It’s arguably the best heavyweight division in the world, and I think Josh Barnett said it best. The competition is here.
| I'm sure Barnett stated that when he had a paying contract in front of him, but he also stated just a few weeks ago that the UFC had the strongest HW division.

What is the point of telling people that you have booking priority if you're not even going to enforce it, Coker?
