Because he has not been cleared to fight yet from the nasty kick to the head he had against CroCop.

its not the America card. i doubt thats a problem
and plus, i think they want Wandy free of any injuries because he is headlining the America show, and that CANNOT fall through

i was kinda comfused on that too. but that makes sence since he's headlining in feb.
kinda funny that him and fedor are the only guys on the advertisement that i saw. and now neither are fighting.

I always like seeing Wanderlei fight, but this saves alot of bitching that people would do about him having a non-title fight on NYE, because that's what it would have been. They've been advertising his fight at PRIDE 33 as a title defense since October. So having him defend the title on NYE could blow that if he lost. And as AJL416AZ said, they also want him injury free, so a non-title fight on NYE would put that at risk.
