| Most Shocking Moments of 2006?
What are some suprising things that stand out in your guys minds that we didn't see coming this past year? For me it was...
-Sylvia almost totally KO'd by Arlovski only to spin it around and KO the Pitbull.
-Coleman breaking Shogun's arm.
-Anderson Silva ripping through Leben AND Franklin in similar fashion.
-Forrest nearly beating Tito.
-Bonnar testing positive for roids.

Seeing Diego KO riggs was a big shock.
Hearing about Cro cop's coming to the UFC
Saku leaving Pride

Bonnar testing positive for steroids shocked the hell out of me. Real disappointing, I really though he was better than that. It's one of those types of things that can wreck a fighter, especially one for which there were fairly high hopes.
CroCop knocking Silva the fuck out surprised me too, I honestly thought Silva would be able to hang around for a decision, but man did CroCop really have his way with Pride Middleweight Champ. Considering how their first fight went, and that Silva actually weighed in heavier than CroCop did for their recent fight, really shows how much CroCop has improved and how strong he's become since he first started MMA. If there is one CroCop LHK KO that people will always will think about, I believe it'll be this one. Silva just went completely lights out.
The way Anderson Silva tore apart Chris Leben and then-UFC Middleweight champ Rich Franklin had to be real surprising. I think most people Leben could hang around for most of the first round until the second, but 49 seconds is just....god damn. And what he did to Franklin was even more impressive. Just when it seemed that Franklin was poised to be a dominant champion, the underdog Silva blasts him with knees, and showed the world just how good he is. A superstar making performance, in my opinion.

lol, because Barnett is about 50x better then Bonnar
and i think all 2:20 something of Silva/Franklin was a shocker to MMA fans. a lot of longtime fans picked Anderson as the winner, but nobody expected that kind of domination.
Sakuraba leaving Pride was a rude shock.
Shogun's arm
and Baroni submitting someone

Shogun's arm
and Baroni submitting someone | Still, he tested positive for a banned substance, it didn't hurt his credibility as much as I thought it would. If it came out tomorrow that Fedor had long been using steroids I would seriously see his legacy tarnished.
And Silva beating Franklin may not have shocked anybody, but I don't think anybody expected that type of dominance.

GSP completly pounding hughes. Not to mention he basically had a 10-8 first round, and would have gotten the tko in the first if there was 5 more seconds, instead he gets it with a brutal face kick and elbows.
