Now besides all that, here he is bitching about a hungry Shields finally coming to the UFC to prove himself (after years of anticipation) and he acts like the guys "skipping in line". He's been proving himself more than worthy of a contender over the past five years with a solid resume at welter weight AND middle weight. So in my eyes if he does take out Kampman, he is deff the number 1 contender for the title. Fitch had his turn, he failed. Now give Shields his turn, due to the fact that he is possibly the last major threat to GSP's reign who hasn't already had a chance. | Yup...because Fitch isn't willing to fight for the title (if Kos gets it) and I thought he said he was going to change weight classes if Kos wins the title.
Because Fitch's plans rely on the outcome of another fight, I am sure Dana isn't happy and doesn't plan on letting him wait to decide what he is going to do. Zuffa likes to start their advertising and planning early....I highly doubt Fitch is going to wait till Kos vs GSP, then wait at least another 8 weeks after that to challenge GSP. Fitch might not mind the wait, but Dana does.
Now if Fitch were to be 'injured' circumstances might change....hopefully that doesn't happen and Fitch gets scheduled to fight someone soon, or tells Zuffa he is going to change weight classes.

what happen last time he got a title shot?????? O yea he got one of the most brutal beatings i have ever seen. Like everyone has said he's too boring and if he's refusing to fight Kos how's he ever going to get into the mix. Because if Kos looses (and he will) Fitch is probably the guy i would match him up against.

I am usually the first one to jump on the side that is most fair and makes most sense for the sport of MMA as a whole but when Fitch is on top of Alvez in their last fight 12 of 15 minutes and lands under 15 strikes I have to say he just does it to himself. No one in the history of MMA has a sub via rug burn but Fitch keeps trying and trying.

either way you slice it, the next couple title fights at 170 have the potential to be snooze fests.
gsp/kos...50/50 chance this will be a lay n pray affair.
gsp/fitch OR gsp/shields also have high potential for boring-ness.
kos/shields...no different.
kos/fitch...will never happen, but if it did, these two would look like two slugs making love.

Fitch should be next in line, hell, he shouldn't even have to fight the winner of Shields/Kampmann for it.
I will laugh my ass off if Shields wins by decision, then what would Dana do? Can't really give Shields a title fight if he's not finishing since that's how contenders are picked these days.

Its MMA and wrestling, grappling is not always action packed from the outside POV. The average guy calls in LnP, but if they attempted to fight in a cage with anyone of that caliber, they would get demolished. That should tell you how well trained and skilled some of these guys are that cant really be finished. Its not that one is not good enough to finish, it also has to be on the other guy to get out of precarious situations. If you cant get off your back, then who fault is it?

He obviously forgot when a lesser hyped highlight reel knockout artist came into the UFC destroyed a journeyman and his next fight was for the MW title. Sounds like some of you did too. As has been stated the UFC looks at most match ups from a business perspective and the Fitch rematch can't compete with a fight with Shields in revenue or public interest.

GSP sells fights. It doesn't matter who he fights against.
