Because it does not matter if you like Fitch or not, he has EARNED anther shot at GSP or who has the title.

I've always wanted to see Condit vs. Alves or Swick.

Unfortunately, Hardy's bloated ranking will do little for Condit at this point with the bottleneck near the top of WW caused by the Fitch/Koscheck/Shields/GSP mess.

hahah so true. This mess will be resolved though hopefully come Saturday depending on how Sheilds debuts, you never know what will happen. I've seen much crazier things then Kampman beating Sheilds in all honesty.

On a side note, did Mike Swick drop off the face of the erath after the Paulo fight??

i'm not convinced that he has earned another shot. Don't get me wrong i like Fitch, He is a good fighter, better than most, but He hasn't done anything to show that another GSP fight would be any different. from a business perspective, they cannot sell GSP Fitch as a new threat, The only exciting thing about that fight is what new shit is GSP bringing to the table.

For fitch to be relavent again he needs to do something to highlight that he has improved drastically from his last title shot and i dont think he has. Dana will want to put new challenges in front of GSP because they will make more business sence

After the GSP loss this is what Fitch has done to EARN a title fight. 5 Straight wins look below

Win 23-3 (1) Thiago Alves Decision
Win 22-3 (1) Ben Saunders Decision
Win 21-3 (1) Mike Pierce
Win 20–3 (1) Paulo Thiago Decision
Win 19–3 (1) Akihiro Gono

Looks like some good wins to me

5 straight dominating wins for the most part. Fitch never really looked in trouble against these guys at all. Kos who lost to both Paulo and Alves is getting the shot when Fitch beat both of them pretty easy. And who else out there can really beat Fitch and his style? other than gsp i think shields would have a chance, so why not have shields fight him for the title? if not fitch will just keep on winning until one day dana is forced to give him another shot.

He was in pretty big trouble against Mike Pierce. Wasn't a good fight for Fitch.

I wasn't saying they were not good wins, It is an impressive streak and normally i would not argue that he deserves a title shot, however as i said in the rest of my post, He has shown nothing in terms of development. He has not shown that he can change the outcome in another GSP fight so from Dana's chair why would you put that fight together

UFC 130 "The Replay of UFC 87" GSP vs Fitch II - i just dont see how you sell it, more money involved in other fights for GSP

Uh the Pierce fight was a 29-28 UD and Pierce had Fitch EXTREMELY hurt and rocked in the last round of that fight. I've never seen Fitch wobbled like that before.
