Jardine vs. France tops Nov. 13 Nemesis Fighting event in Dominican Republic
by MMAjunkie.com Staff on Oct 18, 2010 at 9:00 am ET
Notables such as Keith Jardine, Paul Buentello, Dean Lister, Jeff Curran and Eliot Marshall have been booked for November's "Nemesis Fighting: MMA Global Invasion" event.
Fans can attend the unique event as part of a four-day all-inclusive vacation package at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The vacation takes place Nov. 11-14, and the event is set for Nov. 13.
Jardine (15-9-1), a cast member on "The Ultimate Fighter 2" who recently concluded a long UFC run, meets one-time Strikeforce fighter Francisco "Kiko" France (6-1) in the main event, and Buentello, a former Strikeforce heavyweight title challenger and UFC veteran, meets "TUF 2" cast member Kerry Schall (23-11) in the co-headliner.
Once at the resort, fans get an all-inclusive package, which includes the MMA event and all pre-show festivities, including a golf tournament, fighter meet-and-greet, weigh-ins, VIP party and concert.
However, fans can also purchase tickets just to the Nov. 13 event, which takes place at the Fillmore Ballroom in the resort's convention center. They range from $40 to $400.
The full fight card includes:
Francisco France (6-1) vs. Keith Jardine (15-9-1)
Paul Buentello (28-13) vs. Kerry Schall (23-11)
Chris Davis (9-2) vs. Eliot Marshall (9-2)
Jeff Curran (31-13-1) vs. Travis Marx (15-2)
Marcus Hicks (9-3) vs. Terry Martin (20-8)
John Dodson (9-5) vs. John Moraga (6-0)
Dean Lister (11-7) vs. Kyle Seals (6-2)

Dominican Republic...um.... you forgot diarrhoea and vomiting on your list | I know a lot of family and friends who have been to the Dominican, and some that still go every year, and no one has ever said anything negative about it. No one's mentioned vomitting or diarrhea. Nonetheless, diarrhea is very common when travelling anywhere.

its not as bad as some people make it out to be, you just can't be careless and eat anything that looks as if its been sitting in a tray for hours or drink from the taps. Other wise your good to go.

I would imagine you'd be fine if you stayed on the resort this event is taking place at. Resort Dominican Republic isn't the same thing as real Dominican Republic, same goes for if you're vacationing in Cancun(it's not the same as normal Mexico).

Punta Cana is the good place to go in the Dominican... And if you stick to bottled water, you should not find yourself shitting through the eye of a needle.

I was under the impression that Keith was suspended by the Texas commission.
They listed the suspension as an indefinite suspension. So, I don't know if he has spoken to the Texas commission to straighten things out or tell the guy who got shoved for being grabby that Keith was sorry for the push.
Glad to see him fighting, I guess he may be fighting outside the US because of that suspension.
I love the idea of having a fight card in a place like Dominican, or like Bodog did in Costa Rica or having Rumble on the Rock fights in Hawaii. Hopefully the event sells well....I also hope having an event in a place with no real athletic commission, I hope they have decent medical staff and I hope that the event comes off professional.
