I'd say Shields is 2 dimensional. He has wrestling and jiu-jitsu. That's one more skill than Fitch, but I'd still take Fitch if they fought.
As for Kampmann, I like his chances, but he shouldn't be the favorite going in. Shields isn't perfect, but if you play on the ground with him too long, he'll win on points at the very least.

Kampmann is going to get pwned and he knows it. | Very cool video. Lots of people call Shields' wrestling "slow", but I think Shields is very methodical and people misinterpret that. Kampmann is very good on the ground as well, but I think Shields will be too much for him.
One thing I found a little ironic about the article, Kampmann talks about how judges will give a fighter the nod based on takedowns when they are getting lit up on the feet, when thats pretty much how he got the win against Condit.

Just curious, they've competed against each other in submission wrestling before and Shields won decisively.

Great video. Most people seem to think the single-leg takedown is inferior in MMA, but Shields uses it regularly and effectively. He used it against Miller and Hendo, and even against an Olympian like Askren in this video. He was giving Ben all he could handle in this video, but Askren has a lot of potential.
If he gets he clutches on Kampmann I don't think he'll have any trouble getting him down and sticking to him like velcro. Martin can win this fight but he really has to stay mobile, and try to frustrate Shields by making him pay every time he wades in close, then jumping out of range again.
