Well it's Tuesday and still no news. Once again, Fedor's name is in the news, just because he's Fedor. Don't you love how they make an announcement that they're going to make an announcement?

At this point, the best thing Coker could do for Strikeforce is to tell the Fink that he's scheduled a December fight with Bigfoot, and Fedor can either show up or not. And when the Fink begins to sputter and double talk, Coker should tell him that's the deal, if he doesn't like it, get fucked and hang up on him. He should then do the same thing with Overeem and Goldenboy.
Fedor is the GOAT, but he's not a draw in the US, he's not making SF money, and his management has become too much of a diva to work with.
AO isn't even a top 10 MMA HW, his performance as champion is about to be outstripped when Bellator has Konrad defend--anytime within the next three years would do it--and AO has always been too much of a diva to work with.
I know Coker lacks the testicular mass to pull the trigger, but it would actually be the best thing for his org.
I'm a Fedor fan, but enough is enough. Quote:

He just lost, he hasn't fought decent competition in years, he makes ridiculous demands... | Really? LMAO!
Fedor has fought better competition than any HW in the UFC, regardless of how much dana koolaide you drink. Quote:

Thank you for the amusement.

rh | This sums up exactly what should be done and the current state of Fedordom.

I've said it 300 times before and will say this again. M-1 is NOT to blame, the fact that Showtime and CBS don't give a rat's ass about MMA, Strikeforce or Fedor is the number one problem!

They are as responsible as Showtime and CBS...maybe even more, because they should love the industry and it's fighters, where CBS/ST don't have that perspective by default. There are great things about M1, and I don't think that the Fink is as horribly exploitative as dana is, but they're just as much to blame as anyone else.
It's like 4 guys watching a ticking time bomb on top of sacks of money, and nobody wants to be the one to move to throw the thing out of the window, because the other 3 guys will grab all the money as soon as his back is turned.
Nobody is willing to man up and compromise, nobody is willing to make the first concession, and everybody is convinced that they deserve the bulk of the remuneration.
Meanwhile, Fedor gets older day by day, and it allows bullshit like AO's PR campaign to muddy the water...and then the Fink legitimizes that same muddy bullshit when he indulges in the same thing.
Fedor is the GOAT. Very simply, he's amazing. He should be promoted as such. M1 should be willing to invest in his future, rather than cash in short term, and engage in petty squabbles and empty promises in the process.

How about the fact that CBS doesn't care about giving the SF or M-1 fighter(s) any exposure WHATSOEVER. is that M-1's fault also? They put in about 15 million dollars according to my convo with Evgeni Kogan for all the foreign broadcast deals...how much ad money has Showtime/Strikeforce/CBS put in?

Look, I'm probably one of the staunchest, long-standing supporters of Fedor on the board, and one of the few people who think the Fink isn't as odious as dana.
But putting money into foreign markets--where they reap the bulk of the reward--isn't the same as CBS or Showtime putting money into it domestically. They want copromotion in the US, they need to copromote in the US. Spend money to make money.
M1 should love Fedor and should love MMA. CBS and Showtime don't need to care about the industry, because it's just another venue to either make them money or to be cut if it stays in the red. They're mainstream, and the luxury of the mainstream is that they don't need to give a shit about subcultures unless the subcultures work to make it worth their while.
So yes, it's great that M1 is working abroad, and again, I'm one of the few people who have repeatedly pointed out that Affliction Day of Reckoning was seen in more homes than UFC 100. But they're not trying to do much to promote the name or the cards here in in the US, and they can't put all of the blame on CBS or Showtime for that. I'm sure they sold the deal to them based on Fedor being the GOAT [justifiably] but that CBS and Showtime didn't realize that you could be the GOAT and still be relatively unknown, that you could be the GOAT and not be a huge draw.
That being said, the Fink putting out a press release about every three weeks with incredible ground-breaking news always on the horizon--but never coming to fruition--is why I'm tired of them. All of them. Coker most of all.
Pull the trigger, Coker! Just pull it!
