Alessio, Carneiro, Shamrock, High, Linhares and Beebe among weekend winners Alessio, Carneiro, Shamrock, High, Linhares and Beebe among weekend winners | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
First John Alessio, great job, defeating Sergey Golyaev is no easy victory. Not sure if the fight was at 170...looked like it was, so Sergey, who normally fights at 155 was outmuscled. Alessio grappled him to the ground and eventually worked the kimura. Good for Roan Carneiro, has only had 2 fights since his UFC release back at UFC 88, so he hasn't been too active, hopefully he keeps fighting, I would like to see him again...and going the distance in his past 2 fights doesn't look that good to the big organizations. Siyar Bahadurzada, I would like to keep watching him step his game up. Keep fighting better opponents, Derrick Noble is on a losing streak now, hopefully he can turn it around. He has beaten Shonie Carter, Chris Wilson, Jake Ellenberger, Carlo Prater, Thiago Alves to name a few, I hope for his next fight he takes on an easier opponent to get his confidence back. Letting Shamrock fight a guy who is 29-43 is ridiculous going 2-8 in his last 10 fights....the Louisiana state commission should be ashamed. Then again, it did go to a decision. I guess both guys are really just doing it for the money, but unless Shamrock gets serious, I don't know how much longer people are going to be willing to watch him fight if he keeps getting matched up against guys like Johnathan Ivey. Good for Jason High, never easy taking on an up and coming prospect. Linhares hasn't fought since the end of March when he was released by the UFC. I rewatched a few of his fights in the UFC, and he was really impressive and entertaining. He got screwed for getting matched up against Palhares and Okami...went 0-2 and got dropped by the UFC. Glad to see him get a victory on home soil, but fighting Mitch Whitesel who is 15-16 and who has never beaten a known fighter (but has lost to more than a half dozen former UFC fighters) isn't going to get him a ticket back to the UFC. I would love to see him back in the UFC...and if he gets a couple wins under his belt against decent competition, I could see him back in the UFC within 6 months. Good news for Chase Bebee, after getting KTFO by the Streetfight Bancho Yakaya on September 25th, glad to see him get back in the ring so quickly...although it would have been nice if he took a month off after getting KOd. If the fight was in the States, he would have to, but it worked out for him. |
Congratulations Shamrock you went to a Decision against a guy with a 29-43 Record. Whoo Hoo, give yourself a pat on the back. You're just tearin' them up now! |
Sounded like quite a start studded event haha |
