| Huerta on Alvarez: "He's Going to Bring the Best Out of Me"
From TAPOLOGY BLOG. Quote:
“I’m going into this fight with everything I have in me,” a passionate Huerta said. “We’ve had a gruesome camp; it’s been the hardest training camp I’ve ever had and it’s all coming together. I’m going in there like this guy’s trying to kill me and kill my career because I don’t think I’ll ever get another shot like this.”
The circumstances surrounding the origins of the bout are unimportant at this stage of the game, but Huerta believes his meeting with Alvarez was meant to be from the moment he signed with Bellator earlier this year. “I believe in fate and I do believe it was meant to be,” he said.
“It’s awesome for me, it’s awesome for Eddie, and it’s amazing for the fans because you’re going to see two guys going out there with everything. I don’t think this fight will go past the first or second round. I’m holding nothing back. This isn’t poker; I’m not going to slow-play him or anything like that. He knows I’m coming right at him and I think he’s going to do the same thing.”
As for the match-up itself, most fans expect it to be a Fight of the Year contender, and Huerta wholeheartedly agrees. “Those are the kind of fights I like to be in and those are the kind of fights the fans like,” he said. “MMA is a chess game, but to me, I’m going in there to fight and to give it everything.”
“When guys play this technical game it’s frustrating,” Huerta said, “but you’ve got to be able to do that too. It’s going to be a scrap and it’s got fight of the year potential. This is the fight I’ve wanted since leaving the UFC. He’s going to bring the best out of me.”
| On the prospect of losing: Quote: |
Asked what he would do if he was defeated on Thursday night, Huerta was quiet and thoughtful. “I can’t take any more losses,” he said after a long pause. “I take them very personal; it puts me in a very bad spot emotionally, so it’s just not a possibility in this fight. It’s a must win fight. This is for all the marbles.”

IDK, i've been disappointed by his recent efforts so hopefully he turns it around.
