But! Until I hear Cain Velasquez, or another person who speaks Spanish, say it's pronounced 'Velaskez', I will pronounce it 'Velasqwez'... and once I'm told differently, I will continue to pronounce it 'Velasqwez' just to be obstinate. | When I read you posts, I see your avatar and then picture Dana White saying what your typing with that same grin/smirk thing on his face.

But yes this is a really bad attempt at a writer trying to make a story out of a really bad insult attempt by Lesnar.
And for the record, hispanic women are hands down the best.

Culturally Insensitive... lol. People are too sensitive these days, it's a big world, nobody is sensitive to others, but everyone expects for others to be sensitive to them. You live, you die, no time to worry about what others think.

Really, this wasn't that bad. More of a joke than an racial insult. You think Cain hasn't heard worse than that?
I agree with Sakara. If you were born and raised in America, then you are American. Not that there is a problem with him embracing his Mexican heritage, I guess what I'm trying to say is I would just consider him American, of Mexican descent. We all like to define ourselves be our heritage in some way, shape or form and I don't blame him or the UFC for embracing his heritage in order to reach a broader audience. From a business/marketing perspective it's genius, it gives the viewers a little more insight into Cain as a person and gives them something to relate to him, whether that's sharing a similar heritage, or just being proud of your own.

This is utterly fucking stupid.
The reason why Lesnar made that exact comment is because of all the hype of it being a "mexican" vs a white country boy from a farm in Minnesots. He was sticking in ajoke about heritage, becasue no one talks about anything but his.
If any of you think it doesnt bother someone from the sticks to constantly hear about how everybody else "needs" a champion your sorely mistaken. Not one time has anyone said, we NEED an Irish Champion. That would be too pro white and racist...Im Italian, I could use a Guinea champ. WTF? All we get is sopranos?
People suck nowadays. They are way too f'in sensitive in the media, looking to exploit a comment. I thought the comment was funny, no harm no foul. Not racist in the least.
As far as Ricco Rodriguez is concerned he is both Mexican and Puerto Rican. Either way its fucking nonsense. People are people and neither one of them are fucking imported like food or prostitutes, so get the fuck over it. They are Americans.
One last thing, If anyone actually WATCHED the countdown, including this delusional journalist, they would have heard Lesnar pronounce Cains last name socially correctwith the "kez", but even Buffer pronounced it in the proper "english" way like Brock did. But they didnt mention that now did they?

Hardy-harrr-harr. "Brock is a big, fat, mean racist man..blah, blah, blah."
No. It was clearly a joke. Hopefully people don't get their flowery panties in a wad and try to blow this out of proportion.
I actually saw this days ago and was wondering how long it would take for it to make it here. Took a lot longer than I expected.
Big deal. A fighter being an asshole? Noooo, you don't say? That's unbelieveable.... *cough*.
I'm actually going to stay at home for this one, sit back, and enjoy my roommates 50-60+ inch bigscreen. I will definitely throw back some Coronas and maybe a burrito, as I watch Cain Velas"qwez's" face when he realizes he's in deep shit. OH yeah, and by the way, Hispanic chicks ARE the best. Pound-for-pound. Lucky you, Sakara.

Here is what Brock's evening on Saturday will consist of:
Take down Velas"kwez" and mount
His hand gets raised
Eats burrito and drinks corona
Mounts Sable
Sleeps
I'm so happy that it seems everyone here can take a joke, which is what Lesnar is doing.

I agree. Brock's just having a bit of fun. No issue here at all.
It's dumb how some will look for racism wherever they can just to look like they're some kind of cultural warriors or something.
This is going to be an entertaining fight. Can't we just appreciate that?

lawlz. It's nice to see most, if not all of us actually agree on something. I'm sick to fuckin death of hearin about Cain's Mexican heritage, and his fuckin 'Brown Pride' tat infuriates me, it's ignorant and a shining example of the double standard in our country when it comes to race and what's allowed and what isn't. As some others have said, there isn't any way Brock would get away rockin a 'White Pride' tat.
Good on Brock for his JK, and fuck the haters. Oh, and as much as I'm rooting for Lesnar in this fight, and I enjoy seein him roflstomp folks in the UFC HW division, he still gets MDK'd if Dana ever manages to bring Fedor in......lawlz. Put the pitchforks and torches down UFC fanboys, I was just sayin!
