HDNet will feature a live broadcast of World Victory Road's next offering, Sengoku Raiden Championship 15, on Oct. 30.
The event takes place at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo with a variety of grand-prix matchups.
HDNet's feed of the overseas event airs in the early-morning hours at 2 a.m. ET (11 p.m. PT).
Sengoku Raiden Championship 15 features the quarterfinals of the Asian bantamweight grand prix, as well as the semifinal round of the welterweight grand prix, which determines the organization's first-ever champion in that weight class.
Non-tourney bouts include a headliner between 2004 Olympic silver-medal judoka Hiroshi Izumi (2-1 MMA, 2-1 SRC) and fellow light heavyweight James Zikic (18-5-2 MMA, 0-0 SRC). Additionally, a future title challenger could be determined with lightweights Leonardo Santos (8-3 MMA, 2-1 SRC) vs. Maximo Blanco (6-2-1 MMA, 4-1 SRC).
The full lineup now includes:
* Hiroshi Izumi vs. James Zikic
* Doo Ho Choi vs. Masanori Kanehara
* Brian Cobb vs. Kazunori Yokota
* Maximo Blanco vs. Leonardo Santos
* Keita Nakamura vs. Takuya Wada (welterweight grand-prix semifinal)
* Yasubey Enomoto vs. Taisuke Okuno (welterweight grand-prix semifinal)
* Chang Seob Lee vs. Kazuo "Yoshiki" Takahashi
* Manabu Inoue vs. Jae Hyun So (Asian bantamweight grand prix quarterfinals)
* Akitoshi Tamura vs. Shoko Sato (Asian bantamweight grand prix quarterfinals)
* Shunichi Shimizu vs. Wataru Takahashi (Asian bantamweight grand prix quarterfinals)
* Shintaro Ishiwatari vs. Taiyo Nakahara (Asian bantamweight grand prix quarterfinals)
| Sweet list of fights. The WW semifinals should be pretty good. Bantamweight should be alright as well.
Love watching Maximo Blanco fights. I always love these events....less star studded than DREAM events, but more evenly matched fighters. Should be a good night of fights....probably like 4+ hours of fights.
I guess Kazuo Takahashi is coming out of retirement too.
