bisping has always had outstanding tdd; look at his fights w/ rashad and matt hamill. i luv akiyama, but that's kinda like the pot callin the kettle black if i do say so myself.

True to all of the above. I'm not a bisping fan per se but to defend the TD like he did against wrestlers the likes of Rashad and Hamil says alot about skills. Not saying it isn't possible for Bisping to grease, just unlikely if he didn't against top wrestlers why now against Judo?

If you re-watch the fight you can see Akiyama make a motion indicating that as soon Bisping shrugged off the take down. I think it's in the 2nd or 3rd round, but if you can see it again he absolutely makes a gesture after Bisping shrugs it off and I remember thinking he cant ACTUALLY be implying what I think he is. Sour grapes

Maybe it's just that Bisping was sweating and not so much that he put anything onto his body to make himself slippery.

I am always confused why the referee outside the ring....the one that checks fighters before they get in the ring, why do they rub the fighters down with gloves on (other than for sanitary reasons)? How are you suppose to feel if a fighter is slightly greasy (not dripping with Vaseline, but kinda baby oily)? Sweat with gloves on feels the same as baby oil.

They should update the rules, force fighters to shower before they get their gloves put on, and during that time they should be monitored to make sure they aren't lubbed up in any way.

Of course it's the pot calling the kettle black, but maybe that's why Bisping may have done it. Doubtful...probably just sweaty, but...

just curious...what do you guys think is worse? a greased up fighter or one that is on ped's?
