| Cro Cop...not signing with UFC?
POSTAL CONNECTIONS: 'CRO COP' CLOSE TO SIGNING WITH DSE/PRIDE
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
By Tape Lord
Hello my friends, my postal connections in both the DSE/PRIDE organization and Croatia are telling me that DSE/PRIDE is currently in advanced negotiations with the management of Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic, and that they are about to make a very substantial offer to Cro Cop that both parties feel will see him remain with the PRIDE promotion.
The offer is supposedly going to be worth more then USD$2.5 million per fight. Both parties expect to have the contract signed this week, and the announcement will supposedly be officially made on PRIDE's December 31st card.

i dunno how accurate this source is. I just want CC to fight Fedor one more time. If he loses, he should go to UFC.

I believe someone posted a similar article a week ago and it was decided it was BS. No way can Pride afford to pay a fighter 2.5 million dollars a fight. Doesn't Fedor only make like 100,000-200,000? Yeah, that article sucks.

yea if Pride was already having money problems and in desperate need of a TV deal, how the hell are they going to pay 1 fighter an amount that could cover the WHOLE CARD.

It's fightsport.com they are probably the least reliable site for breaking news out there. Especially considering their Anti-UFC penchance and their habit of starting baseless rumors.
Anyways, good find but just remember Fightsport is unreliable.

Imagine this: Cro Cop signs for 1 fight with Fedor for 2.5 Mil. What if he wins? Then ALL of the chips are in his bag and he can demand 5, 10, or more. There is no way any promotion would sign that deal.
