This is an old agureement in a new thread.
I dont mind this at all. Sure thier are some good fights that could happen between teammates, but there are plenty of good fights without the teammates fighting. Currently, Jones better be focusing on Bader cause if not Bader can beat him.
The truth, is Jones has not done alot in this sport YET. He needs some good wins over some "named" people before he even thinks he cpuld fight Rashad, Lyoto, Shogun
If Jones beats Bader I say give him Page (coming off the loss to Lyoto). Jones wants to fight a striker so Page fits that bill.

Just wondering..... has Rashad ever said HE wouldn't fight Jones?
Think about this situation, Rashad loses to Shogun, Jones fights a few more fights to become no. 1 contender. Jones fights champ and wins, meanwhile Rashad is moving his way back into conderdership...... Jones couldn't turn down a fight with Rashad then because he's champ, and would Rashad really turn down another go at the title??
What do you reckon?

doesnt he want to test himself against the best, if rashad is the champ and jon jones is next in line i bet he will fight him. just a quick 10 minute ''do you want to be a fucken fighter'' talk from dana and its a done deal.

Any chance that since Jones has been training with Rashad he simply feels he cant beat him at this time and this is was to stall a possible fight? just a thought

Or......
We could credit it as Jon Jones showing full support for his teammate who has an impending title fight in the near future.
I will reserve my judgment on this matter until a time when I actually see a fighter TURN DOWN a title fight.

If I had to fight my older brother who is actually my best friend, to determine a #1 Contender or in fact, a title shot, I would jump at the possibility....it's nothing personal, just professional.
Enough with the whole "true martial artists don't fight each other" crap...cry me a fucking river.

One thing to take into consideration is the fact that if teammates are forced to fight each other, it may cause them to hold back in training. They may be less willing to go all out, share tips and secrets, or point out flaws in the partner, since they may eventually have to fight them.
If teammates are forced to fight each other, their training may suffer, and we'd have less complete MMA artists to show for it.
I'm not strongly for or against teammates fighting, depends on each individual situation for me, just something to consider.

Jon Jones is going to be another thorn in Dana's side with this kind of attitude. He'll cut one of Jon's sponsors as revenge!
