He doesn't want to fight wrestlers and now he doesn't want to fight Rashad Evans who is capable of kicking Jon's ass. It's obvious, Jon isn't so sure of himself. |

Anyone else not want to act like a professional? This is a sport. Not a fucking war to see who is going to romp on your wife. For fucks sake. | Agreed. I don't see why the fighters all act this way. After all, it's not like Peyton Manning or Eli Manning said to the NFL when they were scheduled to play against each other and say, "Hey we refuse to play each other give us a different team to go against," even though I don't think they like playing against each other.
Plus there are plenty of friends in football and it's not like one refuses to hit/tackle another guy because they are friends.

Playing your brother or best friend in hockey or football is one thing where the purpose is to 'play' against them. But to step into a cage with him where it's your job to hit him as hard as you can is a whole other thing. The whole purpose is to hurt him. And with that, the possibility of death is likely if you hit him hard enough in the right place. Fighting is just a whole other thing. It can't be compared to other sports. Fighting isn't really a sport, it's almost legalized attempted murder since you're trying to do serious damage to the other guy but you're hoping he doesn't die.

That is called no holds barred, back int he day, brawls. This is a legitimate sport with a 10 point must scoring system. Guys win EVERYDAY on points in tournaments, trials, and competitions all over the country. You dont have to go in and "try to kill someone". It why all BJJ PLAYERS...get it Players? Call themselves that. You can go into a cage and still box, wrestle, grapple and win in many ways. Saying you dont want to fight your teammate is fucking stupid, considering you will roll around on a mat for 4 hours a day with him but you wont do it in an actual competition to excel your career? The real reason that nobody has the balls to talk about is, because they are so hell bent on not hurting a guys feelings when they lose! Period
Get over it and do your job or don't fight at all. Some of the best and most courageous fighters out there show a higher level of respect to their opponents after a battle then before the bout. Its fucking nonsense and Jones is WAY to young in his MMA career to make stupid comments like that.

Sure, Rashad and Jon can roll on a matt for 4 hours in a camp. But is Rashad trying to launch his hardest kick to Jon's skull in camp? Is he trying to maim Jon with elbows to the face? Is Jon trying to knee Rashad's nose through the back of his head? I think not. Like I said, despite the rules and regulations, all of the aforementioned is legal in MMA and it's still enough to seriously damage another man's life if not take their life altogether. It only takes 1 shot in the right place to seriously harm a man. That's my point. The whole focus of MMA is to do exactly that. That's not the intention in any other sport. That's why combat cannot be compared to hockey, football, etc.

Specifically the part where I clearly said there are many ways to win. Not every fighter goes for the jugular. If you have an issue with the "brutality" in MMA, go preach your bs somewhere else.

*This post breakdown was brought to you by the People's Republic of Better Reading Comprehension*
Aside from that all the hate for Jones saying he won't fight Evans is ridiculous. Its not like they are even in line to fight each other right now so really get a grip people.
I mean some of you act like the UFC is your company and you get paid for these fights. This is just for your entertainment but its the fighters lives that they have to deal with. | Haha. Actually, I'm of the opinion YOU lack reading comprehension. CrystalMan7's final point was that they exhibited the "attitude of a professional" due to the fact that they were WILLING to fight each other in the Grand Prix. MY POINT was, that was then, this is now. They're still professionals, EVEN THOUGH, Shogun says he would not fight his friend Wanderlei NOW.
Hopefully YOU won't misread this rebuttal.
