|  Vitor "shaolin" Ribeiro Signs With K-1 Hero's

Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro, currently ranked as the #6 Lightweight in the MMAWeekly Rankings, has been signed to fight for K-1 Hero's in 2007, according to reports by Kid Pilegro of ADCC News. Details of the contract were not disclosed.
The 17-1 fighter was originally slated to debut for the promotion at the K-1 Hero’s 154-pound Grand Prix earlier this year, but was forced out due to an injury.
The sole loss on his record was delivered by Tatsuya Kawajiri, who is #3 in MMAWeekly’s lightweight rankings, more than two years ago. Since that time, Ribeiro has gone on a seven-fight win streak, most recently defeating Daisuke Nakamura at Cage Rage 19.
In exclusive comments with Pilegro, Ribeiro expressed his satisfaction, “This is the reward for all my efforts and good results over the year… it is signed, sealed and delivered and in 2007 I am going to be a part of one of the largest events in the World, K1. My son is my good luck charm!”

Great signing for K-1 HERO's. "Shaolin" is one of my favorite LW. Big mistake by PRIDE and UFC for not locking this guy up. I really wanted UFC to sign him to add more credibility to their LW division. I guess it's just another top 10 LW that isn't in the UFC.

another big name in Hero's, although i wish they would just send JZ, Sudo, Kid, and Shaolin to Pride or UFC

i was hoping that UFC would pick him up, but there are some interesting matches that could happen with him in K-1

kid and shaolin would be a good fight... genki too... ufc really needs to start getting some quality international fighters in the LW category as well i think...
