I don't see how Renzo, or any Gracie would fit in with this promotion if the 15 second rule is adopted. I think what the UFC should do (I say UFC, since they have the most exposure) on Inside the UFC or as part of a UFN is to take one of their better BJJ guys (Lister maybe) and do a 5 minute segment where he explains the methods and effects of ground grapling. I am sick of hearing people booing when a BJJ guy is fighting for leverage to pull a sub, which is the result of pure ignorance - ignorance that the UFC could easily help rectify.

I think they should do it again on Spike TV where the casual fans hang out. Laimon would be fine, as long as he is not demonstrating on Serra.

i dont like the 15 sec thing, to me its if that is in effect that its just going to be a boxing match, i mean 15 sec isnt long enough to take them down try to pull guard or mount and your stood up, i guess it would make people who cant strike learn really fast

I think people are mis interpreting the rule. If a BJJ guy is actively fighting for leverage, in my mind that is not considered inaction. If two guys are just rolling around and resting or obviously not going to get what they need for a sub or a change of position, I say stand them up.

I'ld like to see how the refs are going to be with this rule. any ref who's been around will probably work as they always have. Personally I don't like the lay and pray. we've all seen plenty of active guys get stood up to early too. They need to be very careful with this rule. its hard enough in a 5 minute round to get something good going sometimes. i'ld rather see the sport evolve alittle more into longer rounds. have a 7 minute round or a 10 minute opener like pride. have fights that are 3,5 or 7 rounds.
