| Patrick Cote Cut by the UFC Patrick Cote Cut by the UFC - Bloody Elbow
According to Patrick Cote's twitter: Quote: |

Oh well...I can't believe he went on a 4 fight win streak in the UFC until people just started taking him down.
Tough last 3 fights. From title shot to Belcher loss to Tom Lawlor domination.
Only Thales Leites was released quicker after losing to Anderson....one fight with Sakara to being dropped.

Cote has some pretty huge holes in his game to patch up, and i'd like to see him in the UFC again, but personally I don't see it happening. It is pretty crazy how he can go from being near the top of pile, to being released in almost exactly 2 years (including the lay off time from injury).

Cote got lucky to get the title fight, then Anderson hit him with a mind bullet, and dropped him. He came back, but people realized he cant stop a TD, and that was that. Sharkfights or Bellator would be a good place for him.

Cote seems like a great guy but I always got the impression that he wasn't very intelligent when it came to fighting (particularly how he can't seem to grasp basic wrestling concepts---but he did try some advanced moves like an outside-in thigh grab...albeit at the wrong times). Sorta like Gabriel Gonzaga (who has insane BJJ for his weight class but fails to use it anywhere near how he should).

I still dont understand how Cote got the title shot in the first place. Was the middleweight division just that weak at the time? Patrick beat like Almeida before that fight didnt he?

Not real shocked by this....Cote has and probably always will be a 1 dimensional fighter, who once taken out of his element is lost.
But....I don't think we've seen the last of "The Predator" in the UFC.
