Scott Coker Talks Upcoming Fights: Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki 2 - Bloody Elbow

• Coker suggested Robbie Lawler could get a title shot against middleweight champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza if Lawler defeats Matt Lindland on Dec. 4. However, if Lindland wins, a rematch against Souza doesn’t sound likely: "I think if Robbie wins, I think that would be a great fight. Let’s just see what happens on December 4. Jacare, I know he wants to fight, get back in the cage. We’ll have him probably in the first quarter of [2011]. He definitely will be fighting."

• Coker would like to promote Josh Thomson against Tatsuya Kawajiri in the U.S.

• Coker was impressed with Shinya Aoki’s win over Kawajiri. He said Aoki looked much more comfortable in a ring than he did in the cage against Gilbert Melendez. He’s working on a rematch between Melendez and Aoki that would take place in a ring on New Year’s Eve in Japan.

• Coker would like to match Brett Rogers against Lavar Johnson.

Hey Coker, I have an idea, how about you give the fans matches they ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE. Nut up and co-promote with Bellator. Are you not wanting to because you can't rape them like you are DREAM?

Melendez VS Aoki II?!

Yeah! That's exactly what I wanted to see! Coker is a genius. He deserves recognition and respect for this. Who would have thought we would ever get the chance to see such a great matchup, again!? Maybe it's Aokis turn to smash Melendez because when your on the ground, being in a ring differs from a cage...because it just does.

As much as I don't like Scott Coker as a booker, I think he is contractually obligated to send a fighter to Dream as Aoki can to the States earlier this year. I seem to remember an interview saying he was going to have to sebnd someone to Japan...

Linland gets the shit end of the stick again i see. If Lawler wins then he gets a title shot even though he's coming off a loss. But if Linland wins he doesn't get it even though he's coming off a win.

Why a number of things here really.

Like WHY put this match on given how poorly Aoki got dummied during their first showdown???

Like WHY waste Melendez, who hasn't fought since fucking April, on a NYE card for another fucking promotion???

Oh and let's not forget WHY, if you're going to copromote and basically give one of your best fighters away, not do it with Bellator against a fighter people actually give a shit to see Melendez face in Eddie????

Oh, and also, why Kawajiri/Thomson? Thomson's a good, servicable fighter who technically brings the heat every time, but Crusher's a pretty beastly SOB and would probably be best suited going up against somebody who can control him better, because I see the Punk getting bullied like hell in this one and probably getting KTFO.

Coker is a dolt. A Surf Ninja, but a dolt nonetheless.....
