As far as that fight goes, Dan Mirgliotta definitely screwed karo. Dan, the same ref that let ONE HUNDRED, (yes 100!!!) UNANSWERED crucifix punches and elbows go without stoppage in the kelly/obrien fight....wouldnt let karo take 5 punches while karo is covered and kicking...dan is a crooked ref and its stuff like this that makes betting on mma impossible......the same ref/card where dan turns falcao's illegal RNC into a camel clutch 5 seconds after the round, then tells harris to fight... | Wouldnt say he screwed Karo over...if a fighter gets dropped by a 1-2 combo soo soft enough that it wouldnt move a punching bag, yet drops a guy like Karo, then something is physically wrong with Karo
While I agree the fight was stopped a little prematurely, Karo wasnt defending himself at all...his hands were on the mat, and not covering his face...if anything he woulda ate a few more shots and then it would be justifiably stopped...pretty much the same outcome as the Alves fight
As for the Kelly/O'Brien fight...O'Brien was moving around his body to avoid the punches and did cover up his face to avoid a good portion of the punches....and those punches were not vicious at all....nothing at all compared to the Jones/Vladimir fight

Last night we were calling him Kar-dough Pillsbariyan lol.
He's got alot of roadblocks ahead of him and as of now, is dangerously close to that Carlos Newton or Joe Riggs level of "former UFC contender" marquee because he hasn't brought a good performance in what feels like three years and he looks straight BAD last night.
It really is a shame.

Karo doesn't get much love, but I was hoping he would pull himself together and come back in good form.
However, my hopes were diminished when I watched the weigh-ins. He doesn't even look like he trained.
You can't expect to do well against top competition when you show up incredibly soft.

If the other guy connects on the right spot, and his body has the right angles going on, he doesnt need to hit karo that hard. You know, one of those punches you can feel in your shoulder and hips when it connects. Same thing bj did to huges...
karo had both hands up covering. watch it again. He was also moving his legs trying to setup a (probably unsuccessful) leglock. Covering and looking for a sub is intelligent defense. Dan stopped it early.
Cmon man....ONE HUNDRED UNANSWERED BLOWS. Do you understand what that actually means?? That might be the most consecutive blows landed in the history of combat sports. And while some of those punches from that position are weak...the elbows certainly are not. And I counted, one by one, only the blows that landed clearly, until it reached exactly 100, when dan stopped the fight. Its like dan was told "you dont stop this fight for kelly unless he lands one hundred in a row" If one fighter were to jab another fighter on the feet 100 times consecutively without any shots returned, they would stop the fight. No one should be hit 100 times before the ref stops it. 100 in a row is some of the biggest domination humanly and mathematically possible in this sport.

as far as being out of shape, karo has always had that baby fat. i've never seen the man look physically impressive, but that doesn't really mean anything.
i just dont understand the "one and done" deal w/ such a talented fighter. tyson griffin got handled for 2 fights before losing a split and he gets to keep his job? wtf?
