If Nik Lentz is beating him at 155, what does he think is gonna happen at 145? The top 7 or 8 FWs would run all over Griffin.

So,they cut Jardine, someone who puts on exciting fights, and has taken alot of top 10 LHW's a full three rounds. But Tyson, someone who isnt near as popular or as good a fighter losing to mid-level talent stays.

Getting paid x amount of dollars? What did he loose anyway, like 4 or 5 straight? Griffin is only at 3 straight plus Jardine was getting KTFO his last few fights.

Griffin is 7-5 in the UFC on a three fight losing streak and has only been stopped once. Other then a controversial split decision against Lentz, he's lost to Edgar, Sherk, Gomi and Dunham. None of those are bad losses. Also, Griffin also puts on lots of great fights.

lol the biggest story here isn't even the Griffin staying part. It's every single one of you going who is Nick Lentz lol... Do I feel like Tyson got the shaft, yes, but if you can't put away your opponent whom you're VASTLY better than in the eyes of everyone except Nick Lentz then you deserve to lose.
I think too many guys give in to their desire to win fights via a bunch of takedowns. Then you end up wearin yourself out and grabbing a leg for 60 seconds to catch your breath while eating rabbit punches from your opponent to try to get you to let go. Tyson Griffin is guilty, Gray Maynard, Clay Guida does it, Diego Sanchez has done it before, even Couture does it, and of course Koscheck.
Wrestlers need to start working more on their striking and less on their stalling, or the UFC is going to thin the number of wrestlers out pretty quick. Dana White is very openly disgusted with stall tactics, so much so that you say Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard and he cringes, because he knows what is gonna happen.
Look at Cain Velasquez. He comes from a wrestling background, but is one of the most dynamic strikers in the heavyweight division now. Wrestling might win you fights, but as a lot of people will tell you, in MMA winning isn't everything if you want to be a star.

A Tyson Griffin vs Clay Guida rematch makes sense. It was a close fight and was one of the best fights in both of their careers.

Clay is riding a 2 fight win streak after finishing both of his opponents. Plus he's fighting Gomi @125. Griffin is coming off 3 losses in a row and one of those was a brutal KO at the hands of Gomi. Griffin needs a gimmie fight against someone who can't handle his wrestling because we all see how that goes when he can't get them down. I honestly think Clay would beat him this time around.
