Strikeforce: Matt Lindland Talks Robbie Lawler, Says Still Top Ten Fighter
by Nick Thomas on Nov 26, 2010 4:02 PM EST in Strikeforce News
"I'm [sic] think I'm still one of the top contenders in the sport – top 10 guys. A win against Robbie certainly solidifies me in that top 10, and I just need to focus on this fight."
"I've always stepped up and taken on the top guys. ... Robbie is a well-rounded fighter. People categorize him as a big striker and a brawler, but the guy is well-rounded. ... I think it's whoever can impose their will. I'd love to put Robbie on his back and pound a hole in his head."
"I think I'm a little more experienced, a little wiser ... I'm going to have to use superior positioning, conditioning and the knowledge of the sport and put him in positions he's not comfortable in. ...I'm looking forward to kicking the [expletive] out of Robbie."
Decemeber 4th, live on Showtime from St. Louis, Missouri:
Matt "The Law" Lindland (22-7)
Win Kevin Casey - TKO (Punches) Strikeforce
Loss Ronaldo Souza - Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) Strikeforce
Loss Vitor Belfort - KO (Punches) Affliction
Robbie "Ruthless" Lawler (17-6)
Loss Renato Sobral - Decision (Unanimous) Strikeforce
Win Melvin Manhoef - KO (Punches) Strikeforce
Loss Jake Shields - Submission (Guillotine Choke) Strikeforce

Matt no matter what he does will always have a terrible chin and Robbie still packs one hell of a punch so Robbie getting a quick KO of Lindland can't be counted out.
I don't doubt Matt also being able to lay on Robbie for 3 rounds. But to say theres no chance of Robbie KOing him is kind of a dumb comment.
